AU Meme - Day 27 - Twins

redfiona99This is late. Because everything is late. Because RL and then the flu this week have not helped with the everything is at least a fortnight delayed problem.

Twins are canonical or a plot point in 3 or 4 of my main fandoms (TRC, Marvelverse [plus X-Men, some flavours], Doctor Who), and there are real twins in the wrestling.
So I will go with the entirely unfake, really, really real twin brother of Elias, Ezekiel.*

He doesn't quite get why people think he's Elias putting them on for something. Yes, they look alike, but hey they're twins, but what would Elias get out of pretending to be someone else.
If Ezekiel knows nothing else, it's how hard Elias has fought to be himself. Like all twins, any photos of them before the age of 10 is a game of guess which one's which, because of all the matching outfits - Ezekiel is normally the one on the left, he's been told.
Elias always chafed against that, 'Zeke's probably the person who ought to be most annoyed by his whole 'man alone' thing, but it's not like he doesn't understand it. And all of Elias's desperate attempts to make sure no-one's ever going to mistake him for anyone else ever again have made it easier for Ezekiel to be Ezekiel, not one of Ezekiel and Elias.
Still, even with the familial awkwardness, their mother still haranguing Elias about the beard, it doesn't mean he doesn't care for Elias, or get worried when he goes radio silent for so long.
He can understand why Kevin Owens might think that he's Elias back, but once he's been told that they're brothers, he's not sure why Owens doesn't believe him. What would he get out of lying to him? He's no doubt Elias has done something to Owens because his brother is frequently a jerk, but this is ridiculous.
Hopefully Elias will come back soon and sort this all out.

*Never have I loved Elias/Ezekiel more than before Summerslam (I think) and he's telling this story about watching Summerslam as a kid and stops midway through to add, "with my brother of course", and that's why we love our not quite fourth wall breaking guitar guy and his infinitely more chill brother.
**I know 3 sets of twins well and have two friends who are twins but I don't know the other one. Bits may be stolen from experiences related. Separately, one of my friends might have had two sets of twins and had to fight for people not to pull certain stunts.
