AU Meme - Day 7 - Fairytales

So part of the problem is that I was brought up on the fairytales where our hero meets three animals and is nice to them so he wins glory and the girl. Or our heroine meets three animals or witches or various other supernatural beings and is nice to them and wins glory and the prince while her mean stepsister is mean to them and suffers.

(It is noticeable that male heroes get animals, while female heroes get a greater mixture including disembodied heads.)

There is a sort of general message of "be nice to people", which did sink in, but it does mean I don't have the same urge to write fairytale AUs as some other people.

The nearest I have to an idea is Elias and Ezekial being twins and one of them being kidnapped/turned into something by a wicked witch and the other one having to rescue him.
