Sith Warrior:

Just finished chapter 2, Spoilers )

Smuggler:

Finally, finally, after a Windows-based tech snafu, and then me not realising that with Windows 10 I can't see the "press spacebar" note, I have managed finish chapter 2 of Smuggler. Spoilers for Smuggler but also most of the other classes )
redfiona99: (Default)
My Sith Warrior is almost done with Hoth. Well actually he's done and just needs to go back to his ship to finish it up.

Spoilers )

My smuggler is also on Hoth about two missions behind where my Warrior is. She would like it if people stopped trying to kill her.

My Jedi Knight has just begun his second chapter. Spoilers )

My bounty hunter has just finished her first. spoilers )

Some fun character crossover points (spoilers for Bounty Hunter and Smuggler) )

My first four are now slowly working their way through the crafting missions.

The four cross class replays are moving along nicely. I've got several more datacrons (not all of them because I suck something chronic at jumping), one more complete planetary exploration, and a couple more champions defeated.

On the downside, the next planet I have to cover is Nar Shadaa and even with invisible toons that's going to be difficult.

With the two that PVP ready, I think I am getting better. I mean, it's unranked and I am still terrible, but there's a lot less flailing panic.

One of the reasons I made this SWTOR update despite all my other updates being way behind and out of order is because I had almost reached the end of the first chapter of the Jedi Knight story and I'd heard that the Uphrades story was significant and I wanted to react to the story without knowledge of what happened.

Spoilers )

I also managed to collect that dashed holocron on Taris. Now to get the location achievement.

My first four characters are being used for crew skills because I've finished the main story with them but am too fond of them to move on to the next part of the story with them.

My Smuggler and my Sith Warrior are both on Hoth. My smuggler has been getting very, very lost (and falling down an excessive number of cliffs). My Sith Warrior has been getting less lost. Sith Warrior spoilers )

My Bounty Hunter is almost done with Alderaan. She's finished the character story spoilers for the Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent stories )

My Jedi Knight is done with Alderaan. The way the story falls out doesn't quite work because you've got to finish off the Alderaan plot after the Knight plot finishes, when the Knight plot should require you to leave planet forthwith.

For my re-run toons, 1 is nearly finished with Taris (although I am going to give that datacron a couple more goes, try to defeat the remaining champion and visit all the locations), the Sith equivalent toon is one major mission and several side missions short of finishing Balmorra. The third is going through Ord Mantell. She is the only one of the reruns so far that isn't a stealth toon and it is going to be heavy going.

The fourth is a stealth Sith, and, all other things aside, that's a terrifying concept. He's quite fun though. I've still not decided which speciality he's going to take.

Finished the main story on my Sith Inquisitor. )

~~~~
Trooper was a bit of a let down because it's the only one (so far) where you don't get to do something epic at the end, it's just a meeting with President Suresh, and then coat-flapping march.
~~~~

Smuggler continues to be less fun than suggested, but I think that's because I want to play her as a smuggler and the storyline is determined that she's more of a privateer. I do like spoiler ) my new companion.

Sith Warrior continues to be all the fun, even if I have now been backstabbed by random Imperials. Dear random imperials, your demise will be tall and Zabrak-shaped.

Jedi Knight )

Bounty Hunter )

I am hopeful that the server merges will mean my second Sage and second Agent will be able to PVP now. I've mostly been lucky with name changes, only my second sage and my inquisitor have had to change names. I don't mind my second sage, other than being worried that it means that there's another Lexx fan on SWTOR because he's named for a minor character from Lexx. It could also be a random name generator name though. More annoyed by my inquisitor because I've had her for so long and none of the obvious name changes were accepted.

Finished the Trooper storyline on Corellia. Spoilers for Trooper and Jedi Knight )

My Trooper is disturbingly even handed. And very much Mom and Pop and apple pie despite everything.
redfiona99: (Default)
Since my Sith Warrior has just finished Taris.

Spoilers )

My Smuggler is wandering through Balmorra.

My Bounty Hunter and Jedi Knight are on Tatooine, and are not lost as yet, exactly. Only once each. Which counts as a win, right?

Jedi Knight Spoilers )

The achievement hunting reruns of Consular and Agent are going well. I have many datacrons. And I know where others are and just have to hope I get better at jumping.

My original Consular and Agent are hanging around their respective fleets crafting while I wait for the next round of either 1) the Rakhghouls or 2) the Bounty Hunting Weekend.

I've nearly finished the stories on my Trooper and my Sith Inquisitor. Sith Inquisitor Spoilers )
redfiona99: (Default)
My Sith Inquisitor is on Corellia )

My Trooper is also on Corellia )

My Sith Warrior has just finished Alderaan )

My Smuggler is still on Alderaan )

My Bounty Hunter is on Nar Shadaa )

My Jedi Knight is also on Nar Shadaa )

My opposite gender reruns of Jedi Consular and Imperial Agent are also opposite advanced class to my first ones and are, accidentally, both stealth classes, which is great for using them as datacron hunters, which I am. There are, however, no PVP Warzone pops on The Progenitor. Which is frustrating 😤 when they're supposed to be PVP toons as well.
redfiona99: (Thinking)
And have it make sense and stuff.

Really I can.

That I've been writing something and just realised the middle section is ... non-existent. There's the lead up and then the break up, but the middle is missing and it's not the sort of pairing where there is obviousness on my side. And I've suddenly realised why I didn't write the middle bit because it is difficult.

Other than that, I've most been loathing work and playing far too much Star Wars: The Old Republic.
redfiona99: (Thinking)
So after seeing lots and lots of adverts for this in the usual places I thought I'd give it a go.

And I love it.

Madly.

Partly it's that the controls are straight-forward and even I haven't managed to shoot myself in the foot.

Partly it's the lovingly, rendered scenery and the music.

But mostly it's the characters.

Fitness

The fitness drive is being complicated by my body being odd. You know the thing they tell you about how to weigh yourself at around the same time every day because otherwise you pick up diurnal variation, which can be as much as 2 lb. Make that 4 lb and that's what's entirely possible for me even if I weigh myself at the same time +/- half an hour. I have been assured that this is not a good thing by at least a couple of med students, but that's always been the way I've been.

Saw the Fast and the Furious 3 - Tokyo Drift.

Whoever told me Han was the best thing in it was so very right, either that or DK's paintjob or the car stunts. They were some lovely stunts.

I don't know if it's just because most of the other actors were not from the US, but the lead guy's accent stood out a mile. To the point of wondering if it's a put on accent. (Have looked it up. It's not. Even more of a shocker, that's Caleb from American Gothic!)

Also,
[spoilers] I wish to point out something that I shall refer to as the Toretto effect. It refers to the way that anything Vin Diesel says while playing Dom Toretto sounds like innuendo. And that this effect is doubled if it is dialogue about a male character. The one that really sealed it was, when he turns up at the end of the film and says that he'd raced against Han, and lead character dude goes 'I didn't think that Han was into American muscle cars', to which Dom replies 'He did when I knew him'. And it's like, there was no way that wasn't innuendo.
[/spoilers]

However, Tokyo Drift does break with the previous films in that its entirely possible for the plot to work without the assumption that the two lead male characters are romantically involved.

Brutal Legend rocks

I fear that should actually be 'rawks'. Very silly fun game, not the most user-friendly of playing systems but, as I say so very much fun and very clever.

I knew I recognised the new doctor from Being Human from somewhere

It's Cleopatra from Rome. She has a very distinctive voice, it was just odd seeing her in modern day clothing.

I'd love to be able to confirm my suspicion but that would involve the BBC actually putting up cast lists.

So I have a new phone. I didn't particularly want one but the old one, or rather its battery, had started doing wierd things, like not truthfully depicting how much juice it had left, and after the 20th call were I'd been left hanging with a gone dead phone after it had assured me that it was full, or at least not near empty, I decided to get a new one. I stayed with O2 because I really cannot be bothered learning a new number, which also meant I had a thankfully reduced number of phones to choose from. I've ended up with a Sony T303, and it's the girliest phone in existence. It comes with sock and it's own jewellery (the sock doesn't beat my project student who has a sheep Fernando Alonso one).

Of course, I can't use it and swapping the sim has removed the various phone numbers I had stored on it. The not being able to use it has lead to great amusement for my housemates, who have taken to shouting suggestions as I hold it the wrong way up etc.

On an unrelated but housemately tip, Lego Star Wars for the Wii looks like great fun.

Finally saw Brokeback Mountain.

Much like Jane Eyre, I'm aware it's good, it's just not the film for me )

I also got to play Fable II on my friend's Xbox, which I enjoyed a lot more. It's a fun little game (or rather big game) and the controls are easy enough to pick up even for the computer-gamely challenged such as myself. And the voice acting is fabulous. All hail Zoe Wannamaker.

Whee!

I have the internets in my room at halls now. Therefore, I shall be able to post pictures more regularly, and might actually be able to give feedback. Because ye Gods am I behind on that. And download stuff, which will also be good. Ah broadband.

At this point I'd also like to say how good the computer game Star Trek: Judgement Rites is.

Was me realising that in order to beat the final big enemy at Neverwinter Nights, I'd have to redo most of it with this character, thankfully I've got most of the stages saved. Or make another one.

Either way, I've got to go through it again.

Argh!

Which Hindo Goddess Are you? quiz, nicked from biorhythm )

Have discovered why my emotions are all over the place. Dear body, it's called a cycle for a reason, it's supposed to be cyclical, not random shaped.

Other things:

OMG, there's a counter-tenor on the Last Night of the Proms. So very cool. Wonder what they're going to have him sing. Oh and John Williams is playing *that* guitar concerto by Rodrigo. I intend to enjoy myself immensly.

Going home tomorrow, which should be good. Will try and finish something, watch wrestling and beat the dragon I'm fighting on Neverwinter Nights.

Other than that, I'm not happy that Mary Pierce is in the US Open final, but this is a shock to no one.

I was bored out of my skull so I decided I'd play this since I haven't played it in ages. And what do I find, I've lost the booklet that goes with it, and don't have a serial number.

Does anyone have any ideas what do in this situation, since I am this far (tiny little space) from going buying another copy.
