SW:TOR - Jedi Knight - End of Corellia
Apr. 11th, 2022 12:06 amOnce again, this mission makes it really clear that Jedi Knight is supposed to be *the* light side story. ( Spoilers ensue )
It does however reinforce that Imp. Agent, awesome though it was and is, really isn't a Star Wars story. I mean, I love it (and my companions most especially) but it's not a Star Wars story.

SWTOR Update after Voss
Jul. 4th, 2021 12:17 amJedi Knight
Voss's Jedi Knight quest is amazing. It's all about duty and belief and how far would you go and there's a moment where there is no good choice. ( Spoilers, and a possible trigger warning )
When you finish, the game doesn't half make it clear Jedi Knight is *the* light side story because they bring up things from the first chapter again when, for all the others, the first chapter is never mentioned again (for reasons).

An addendum to the last post.
Bounty Hunter - There is plot between Belsavis and Voss.
( Spoilers for Bounty Hunter, obviously, but also Imp Agent )

Not sure how Voss will work with my Bounty Hunter. Or rather, the Voss having to cope with my Bounty Hunter and her companions (ha!)
Smuggler - ( I may have accidentally finished the character storyline for the smuggler )

SWTOR Update
Oct. 9th, 2020 08:44 pmJust starting Voss with my Jedi Knight and ( Spoilers for Jedi Knight Voss and, oddly, a Smuggler companion )
My Bounty Hunter is still on Belsavis, because Belsavis is the gift that keeps on giving. She's only got about 3 more missions there, so there will be an end to it eventually. ( Companion spoilers )

SWTOR Update
Sep. 20th, 2020 07:36 pmFinished Belsavis with my Knight
( Spoilers )
My Bounty Hunter is supposed to be finished too, but she was one mission behind anyway and then she got a bit lost and I found a whole area I've never seen before. I'm not sure if I've accidentally activated the bonus series because I'm now over the minimum level to start it, but I thought the minimum level for that was 60 (which I've not reached) and that you had to leave the planet first, which I definitely haven't. However, there remains the possibility that I have done something bizarre. I am the fool you have to proof your games against.

( Sith Warrior Spoilers after Voss but before the start of Corellia follow, also a small Firefly spoiler )
( My Smuggler has also been betrayed (again spoilers for after Voss, before Corellia) )
I had, however, forgotten how *big* Corellia is though!

Finished Voss on my Smuggler and my Sith Warrior
Smuggler was fun, even if bits of it were "there is no good option here" but in the good way.
Sith Warrior was also excellent, and properly creepy.
( Spoilers for Warrior and Jedi Knight, and a tiny one for Sith Inquisitor )

Trooper
It's a lot easier to rank the second chapters than the first, but at the same time, there are certain difficulties, because, although I say that the Trooper is the worst, and it is, it has the best end of chapter mission. By a long way. But that doesn't make up for a lot of samey missions. ( Spoilery discussion of the Trooper storyline )
It is also noticeable that the top 3 are all Imperial storylines. The one that isn't in the top half, Bounty Hunter, has similar problems to the Trooper storyline, because they are all hunt and kill/capture, but at least I was expecting that because my character is a bounty hunter. And at least there is some differentiation between the different missions.
I've put those 3 storylines at the top because it feels like what happens changes who your character is, while with the others there isn't that depth. Agent and Inquisitor have some gloriously creepy bits and then there's the many things that happen to the Sith Warrior. Who will finish this properly paranoid.

SWTOR - End of Bounty Hunter Chapter 2
Mar. 24th, 2020 11:04 pmWas a bit of a let down. One part of it wasn't its fault, it's just that I played it right (well okay, a week) after the galaxy-shattering Jedi Knight chapter 2 ending, but also it just doesn't feel as big as any of the others do, because it doesn't change anything. It might make the Bounty Hunter's situation more itself than it was before, but it doesn't change it.

SWTOR - Jedi Knight - End of Chapter 2
Mar. 9th, 2020 12:51 pmSpoilers. Giant mahoosive spoilers follow.
I'd been warned that the end of the Jedi Knight's second chapter was epic, and I made sure to set extra time aside on my Sunday SWTOR play through.
I did not set aside enough time, because the game got me and good.
( Me processing the end of chapter 2 of Jedi Knight )

SWTOR Update
Jul. 31st, 2019 12:05 amFinished Belsavis on my Smuggler and my Sith Warrior.
Sith Warrior continues to be all of the fun. ( Spoilers )
Smuggler was also fun ( spoilers )
My Bounty Hunter and Jedi Knight are both still on Quesh and are both being fun and interesting.
Bounty Hunter is just fun, and Jedi Knight ( OMG my possible new companion )
Four more are still crafting and the re-play toons are slowly doing their thing, even if I still can't get to *that* datacron on Coruscant.

Four more are still crafting and the re-play toons are slowly doing their thing, even if I still can't get to *that* datacron on Coruscant.
The four characters who have finished their main stories have been switched to crafting, which is an excellent way of keeping the inventories of the other characters tidy.
Both my smuggler and my Sith warrior are on Belsavis. Belsavis has not got any less itself, but I have got a lot better at reading the maps. Both stories are interesting, and, despite the way the game has been made easier (several updates ago), I have managed to die on both characters. Because the Esh-Kha are mean murder cows.
( Spoilers for which companion I am blaming )
My Jedi Knight has finished Balmorra and I hate my new companion. Doc is the latest in a long line of sucktacular male companions who are supposed to be the romance option for your female toon. Let's recap, dude you've just met, comes aboard, demands better quarters (okay, that one's obviously a joke but still) and is then horribly mean to your robot, who has been with you since before you were knighted and has a (mechanical) heart the size of a whale, and the other Jedi aboard, who is a woman who has seen some seriously bad things and come out on the side of good, and it's like, no dude, you do not get to do this.
Part of the problem is that with both him and Corso Riggs, they are trying to write Han Solo, missing that that is a hard character to pull off (and Harrison Ford has mutant charisma).
My Bounty Hunter has just finished Taris. I deliberately used Gault for the end of it in case ( I did decide to )
I would utterly recommend taking Gault as the companion for Balmorra because he is just so much fun. Oddly, being as he is utterly self-centred, take-the-money and run, he is both more fun, and closer to Han Solo than either of the two characters who are supposed to be like him.
( Spoilers for the Bounty Hunter Balmorra storyline )
While I mentioned that if you play the Taral V-Jedi Prisoner flashpoints, it becomes clear that Jedi Knight is *the* main Light side class, I don't think the distinction is as big over on the dark side, because you have this very interesting convo with Revan even if you're a show-me-the-money bounty hunter. Which my character is.
Now both my Jedi Knight and my Bounty Hunter move on to Quesh.
My replay characters are moving along nicely, and I (helped) defeat my first World Boss - The First on Dromund Kaas. People continue to be really lovely if you're willing to admit that you're a noob who's never done something before.

SWTOR: Taral V Flashpoint (spoilers)
Apr. 22nd, 2019 09:02 pmFinally getting round to running this on my Jedi Knight, and it's interesting how they've tailored it to the Jedi Knight. It's always been quite clear that the Jedi Knight is *the* main Jedi class (I say this as someone who prefers the Sage), but it's really interesting seeing how they specialised it for the Knight, so when you play it as a Jedi Knight, you get to say you've seen Force ghosts before, and it mentions the Uphredes incident (damn you Kilran, again!).
It does make it a lot more immersive.
It does make it a lot more immersive.
I was going to try and do a ranking of the stories, but I realised that was quite difficult because several of the stories are of similar quality (mostly good), and none of them are bad, so I've done a good things and bad things about the first chapter for each story instead.
