Well I nearly squashed a frog
Mar. 9th, 2006 03:44 pmSeriously, there was a random from on the path through Vicky Park. I think it was suicidal because it didn't try and move out of the way. I missed it thankfully.
Other than that I saw The Peacekeeper Wars. Same reaction as last time, much squeaking about the coolness of Scorpious, Aeryn and Chrichton, the wonderfulness of D'Argo.
Other things noticed this time - Stark and Granny, mad though they are, are deeply cool.
Was very annoyed that Channel 5 cut a couple of scenes ( Spoilers )

Jan. 23rd, 2005 01:00 amImportant Smackdown notes - WTF has Rene done with his general look? Listen ami when I complained about your previous hairstyle I didn't intend for you to make it worse.
Can you tell how uninspiring I found SD.
Now for the TNA squeakage:
They were showing like 4 Impacts in a row, I think the four between Victory Road and Turning Point. Definitely leading up to Turning Point anyway. I only caught the last two.
( 2 Impacts before Turning Point )
( The Impact before Turning Point )
Unfortunately I missed a lot of that last one because I discovered that the first part of 'The Peacekeeper Wars' was on on Sky. Am definitely having the second part taped because that cliff-hanger was of the evil.
Will refrain from squawking at the moment until I see part two.

Aug. 21st, 2003 11:23 pmYeah the lack of updates is due to me feeling wiped out and having nothing to write.
Mainly I have been main-lining the Sci-fi Channel and Bravo, with the occasional bit of Sky.
Sci-fi have been re-running Farscape and it's in the middle of a three parter in Series 2, where Crichton has managed to to get himself nearly married. I haven't seen it before and it's rather good, except for Aeryn being a little OOC.
( Plus one of the minor characters, Counsellor Tyno, is adorable. )
And various other tertiary characters also rock the socks. And Scorpius is being all witty evil.
But before that Sci-fi are showing 'Bubblegum Crisis' and 'Gasaraki'. I like them both. Selina on BC is a little too squeaky for me, but pretty much everyone else is cool. All hail Clamp.
I understand why they're comparing Evangelion to Gasaraki, but I think that it doesn't fit. Because while Gasaraki does share the oddness and the mecha thing, it's a far, far better programme. (Okay for the record, I really didn't like Evangelion because it bored me)
Again the characters do not annoy me, except Misuzu, and she has the whole Dawn thing going.
I'm really psyched about the next episode because revelations (or what passes for revelations on this crazy programme) have been promised and one of them has to do with one of my favourite characters.
I also keep catching bit of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT on CNX. How much better is DBZ than GT?! I mean it really is. In GT it's all oh the bad guys are easily defeated because of how great Goku is.
And no, my problems have nothing to do with the wimpification a la Spike of Vegita, or the complete lack of Picolo. Really, well not much ;)
I want evil Vegita back. Although in the bits I have watched so far he has had his moments. Plus he was in the middle of battle and had one of his traditional, 'Goku is sooooo not better than me' rants. Got to love him.
Still here's hoping Android 17 beats Goku.

Jul. 25th, 2003 12:25 amThe Sentinal - I watched it when it came on because of everyone else recommending it. And it is fun,
however,
I do not see the slash factor.
This is undoubtedly down to a fair few things but mainly I fear due to the fact that they sound like me and Mum bickering when they bicker. There's one episode to do with an oil rig, and they have an argument about Sandburg's tidiness or lack thereof. It's copybook me and Mum. Only my curls aren't as tidy. (I would love hair like that)
That being given, would someone explain to me the twinking of Sandburg. Because I don't get it. He isn't in the slightest bit effeminate, and nor is he a puddle of gooey emotions.
~~~~
All that being said, I might not be the best judge of slashy since I'm writing obscure guest of the week Seaquest DSV slash.
Seaquest itself isn't half as bad as people make out. Plus it has Dagwood who is the most adorable character on any programme ever. And even better, he is adorable without being overly sugary.
Most of the characters are not the usual macho men and helpless women of most sci-fi which is quite refreshing. Also there is a captain who would rather talk than fight, this is good.
I also love the end of the second series, because in the tradition of sci-fi there is no happy ending.
~~~~
I have also been watching Farscape (why yes the TV is stuck on the Sci-fi Channel and Eurosport) they're reshowing the first series. I'm falling in love with it all over again.
Zhaan is such an interesting character, and her and D'Argo are lovely together.
Plus 'The Flux' was on, which makes me happy because Staanz makes me think that I'm not the least feminine woman in the Universe. Not that I wouldn't kiss her.

f1 randomness plus Last Ever Farscape!
Mar. 10th, 2003 10:06 pmOkay I'm a massive Ferrari fan but even I like it when someone challenges them. Although at times it was far too much like 90-94 for my tastes. Oh the misery :P
Plus it means there might be less of those glory hunters.
So UNFAIR that Farscape got cancelled, because it was so good. And the cliffhanger was evil. Truely evil. As in 'the writer has put much thought into how he can hurt us' evil. It is also proof if it were needed that they are all brilliant actors. And I suddenly remembered why D'Argo is my favourite character.
