Had to run in to work for the first time in more than a year last week, and I have decided I was right, it's wearing work shoes again that's going to be a killer. I think plasters will be in order.

Other than that, after 33 different magazine editions, one of the crochet squares looks vaguely the way it's supposed to. I believe the problem to be a combination of my being bad at crochet and them being appallingly bad at giving instructions (the same people behind are behind the knitting magazine, but at least I know enough about knitting to figure out what they probably mean, I don't have that with crochet).

Crochetting

I think I might have figured out how to crochet. The company doing the crochet magazines are the same ones who did the knitting ones, so their instructions are terrible (as in, I think they'd make sense to someone who knew what they were doing but not to beginners, which is a problem as its aimed at beginners), but practise has meant I think I can now decipher what they mean.

I may be slowing defeating the crochet demon but I need to know, is it supposed to lie flat? When I do squares they come out ... ridged. Are you supposed to not turn or turn the piece at the end of each row? I think it's one of those obvious questions that are too obvious for the crochet magazines to mention.
