Went to the gym today so I feel all post-gym and bouncy.

Then I came back and watched wrestling. Colin wasn't home so I had the backroom to myself.

I saw a fun little womens match from Japan. Not the greatest ever or madly technical but one of the funniest deliberately funny matches I've ever seen.

Followed by AMW v the Redshirts. All I wish to say is damn the Naturals. I love AMW. I'm hopeless.
Since I've never seen Survivor, who, pray tell is Johnny Fairplay, or is the TNA introduction enough to know? He's good at making people boo.
I take grave exception to AJ Styles being the voice of the people - this people demands a less southern accent ;)
El Lionie (or whatever, my Spanish being up there with my Martian) looked horribly familiar but I didn't recognise the tattooes so I'm going to presume my brain is playing tricks on me.
Mike Tenay does a good pissed off.

All this was interspersed with bits of Velocity. I caught the end of Jindrak v Haas which looked to be good. As did Miss Jackie wearing an awful lot of material covering barely anything. Miss Jackie and Charlie, the ambiguously straight duo ;)
And Paul London and Kidman v the Dudleys. Which was good. I really like not liking the psycho Dudleys. And there was cheering for crusierweights. Hear that Vince, they get cheers if you give them time and matches.
And Josh Matthews sounds like he's losing his voice, either that or it's finally breaking ;) (Yes, I know I should stop being mean about him since he's stopped saying 'What's popping?' but I can't help it.)

We also had decent food. Lets just say that it won't be me that loses it with Colin, it'll be Nan. I should explain - Colin has moved in. Quite sensibly he did this while Nan was in hospital and in no position to complain. Colin has his way of doing things, Nan has hers. They are not the same. And neither of them will back down. It's amusing mostly, when you're not getting caught in the crossfire.

Randy should wear a suit more often.
Starts the campaign for less splatting of Regal.
Word to Batista - you are now Dave until such time as you stop with the silly posing. And also desist with the splatting of Jericho.

Sorry that there's not more of them but the Prisoner was on and I like that programme far too much. That and Glastonbury coverage featuring Franz Ferdinand who I think I love now.

TOTP had them on as well, along with Razorlight. Why yes, I grew up during the Britpop era and am enjoying the revival. Also Razorlight > Libertines, any day of the week with their hands tied behind their backs and blindfolded. Okay maybe not by that much but still way better.

I'm trying to decide if JC Chasez's new song "All Day I Dream About Sex" is the worst thing ever recorded or actually quite good. The confusion comes about because it is electropop and I love electropop. Really. New Romantics, Gary Neuman, anything.

Only saw one match of TNA - Redshirts and Abyss v AMW and AJ Styles. But I was happy enough because there was also random bits of Rowdy Roddy Piper just before, a recap of other things that had happened. And Kid Kash annoying Trinity, who I think I like if only for the comment about all the TNA guys being up themselves.

I read Powerslam, which is a wrestling mag, and someone wrote in and asked "Are Randy Orton and Batista married in real life?" You can guess where my mind went with that one.

Oh and we've found the perfect student house. Going signing today.

Also the English can not cope with snow, 1 inch and everything's ground down to stupidly slow.

A black wollen one like my coat. And it's perfect. Not Dracula-esque, more creepy monk. Although creepy monks probably don't jump around going "weehee I have a cape". Which I did do.

It's lovely and warm too.

Other than that I'm back home. And I came back on one of the posh new Virgin trains. They have the nicest blueberry muffins you have ever tasted too. Lovely and moist. Dry muffins are a plague on humanity.

I love travelling by train because you can just sit back and relax. Lot more fun than horrid cars. Um guess who's family didn't have a car when she was growing up.

Think about it, there's never any traffic jams and you can read and write on them.

So I started my letter to my penfriend and started FOTR. It just flows along doesn't it. And the hobbits are so much like some people I know, especially the scene with the Gaffer. Loving it so far, including the prologue. Which makes lots of sense.

I think it's an easier read than the Hobbit.

The scene where Bilbo can't give up the ring is even worse than in the film, which I didn't think was possible. But you can see that the ring has been building up its effect on him right from when he first got it, what with him making up the story about the present. I think the film did a good job of getting it over.

A line that makes me feel so sad knowing what happens later, some spoilers for ROTK )

Plus dwarves. Hee. And kid Hobbits.

And the minute I leave my teens I'm going to claim I'm a tweenager and won't grow up till I'm 33.
~~~~
I've just seen the RAW mag with the pictures of Evolution and the Ferraris. This being me, I'm more into the cars ;)
Of course Flair got the classic scarlet red one. Really beautiful car, and have to say he was wearing a good suit too.
Batista and the dark grey one was a good pic too.
I'd love to know what possessed them to use a blue one. I suppose it was nearly Azzuri blue but still.
The Enzo looks good, not as good as the 365 which was either a Marinello or a Monza, I think it was Marinello, but then again that is the car I dream about at nights. Well, that or yellow Lotus Elise. Or possibly a TVR of any colour, because they're just as powerful and far better looking cars in general. They're less ugly round the rear, fewer grills and such, smoother rounder lines.
Shutting up now.
Mariusz Pudzianowski won world's strongest man again, and now I'm even more annoyed about WWE calling Mark Henry the World's Strongest Man. Because Pudzianowski has more strength in his little finger than Mark Henry has in his whole body.
And he also gives the lie to the whole big men can't be flexible because he can do the splits. All twenty totally muscled stone of him can.
But yes, he was fantastic.
Now on to the survey )
Went out last night with the fencing club. Lots of fun.
Also have my grade one, which will keep Mum happy.
Onto wrestling news - "Steve Austin told Jindrak and Cade to come up with a flashy name for the tag team because just that name alone isn’t enough. They came up with “The Odd Couple” (as a joke I assume) since Jindrak is single and out on the town with Randy Orton every night, while Cade is married and prefers to stay in at night."
~I'm saying nothing~
While William Regal's new book has yet to hit bookstores, you can now pre-order it through Amazon UK
~must get~
From Rajahwwf.com as always.
Finally getting to see 'Run Lola, Run'. Or rather I'm taping it to watch tomorrow because I fully intend to drink up every detail. Because as with a lot of Thomas Twyker's films it's the idea as much as anything that I'm into.
Plus hello there's Franke Potenka. With red hair. Running.
And it's in German which is such a lovely language.
~~~~

Victoria Baths won the Restoration thing. But more importantly, the little Shetland croft will be saved too.

Oh and in the final, Laurence L-B once again stole the show. Or nearly, I think it may have been a tie between him and the brass band.

And now for wrestling thoughts )

Saw some men's volleyball. Which was surprisingly good. Because I mean, I'm used to seeing women's volleyball, but never seen a men's match. I intend to correct that error.
redfiona99: (Default)
Cricket - our batsmen are naive, our bowlers are awful. The South Africans have an insanely good squad. Andy Flintoff still rocks.

Blasted Man U won, although Alex Ferguson was booted into the stands. This is good. Forest lost, Villa haven't played yet, but Wednesday won. Go Kuqi.

Wrestling - Smackdown has Shaniqua and Benoit playing mind-games. Oh and matches. I think there were matches. Would someone tell Brock that he scares me, but in the good way.

The RAW highlights meanwhile only showed Kane carrying RVD away, not what happened next. I fear that if Heat doesn't show it I may be forced to beg someone to tell me what happened.

The RAW highlights also didn't show La Resistance.

Oh and I think Jericho might have won because his hair is dyed a shade of yellow actually physically possible. What did Nash do, stick his hair in bleach for a week?!

Looking forward to Heat. Stevie Night Heat + Cade/Jindrak = me happy.

Fic wise the only thing that seems to be moving forward is an Ethan/Giles Buffy fic, the 'Kisses' series and a Cade slice of life ficlet that's all slash gen-ish.

Actually on the subject of Cade, I never know whether to call him Lance Cade or Garrison Cade.

Oh and my O'Haire muse is unspeakable, but I'm not telling you anything you didn't know already ;)
redfiona99: (Default)
In other words I still haven't seen SD but I caught the highlights.

These might still be spoilers )

And just as a general thing, try to catch Heat tonight especially if you're Stevie or Victoria fans because, just because. I don't think that's a spoiler.

From the Bottom Line clips of the Insurrextion tour

Trish in a Robin Hood pantomime outfit is cute. As in sweet cute.
Dear Stone Cold, there is no way that you downed 20 pints of Newcastle Brown ale since you're not a Geordie and no one can except them ;)

Just saw an episode of Six Feet Under, and am now of the opinion that it is the most over-rated programme on TV. Hated everyone, except David (I think that was his name).

But anyway, it reminded me how lucky I am to have my rather wonderful family where we drive each other to distraction (and beyond) but there is love (most of the time).

Other than that - Boris won, Boris won! Trouble was there was better tennis in one match between two crumblies than there was in a whole tournament with actual full-time tour players.

Massive love to Becker and Edberg.

One thing I love above all about Becker, they were asking about whether he could beat any of the guys on the ATP tour now, and he said that he could give anyone a good match, but he couldn't have another match the day after. Basically that there's no point playing unless you can win. Which is, I think, the mark of someone who is a great. Because he still loves the game (which is why he plays on the Seniors tour and plays lots of exhibition matches), and you can really hear it in his commentary.

I might complain about it, but the BBC tennis commentators are really kick-ass.

Got OPM's Menace To Sobriety for £2 in a sale (because it didn't have it's CD case). Definitely a brilliant bargin. Oh how much I love them.

And now, for those on my friends list with a fondness for William Regal -

>>The WWE's British superstar William Regal will be doing an online interview with The Sun - the UK's top selling newspaper - before he makes his in-ring comeback at the Insurrextion PPV. If you have a question you'd like Regal to answer then send it to webchats@the-sun.co.uk with the subject line 'WILLIAM REGAL'.<<

Could someone tell me when Le Resistance became my boys? Oh yeah, when the promo first appeared. Sorry, much with the Garçon-Love at the moment.

Too much work at school. Not enough sleep. Have undoubtedly fucked up a maths mock.

That's about it.
redfiona99: (Default)
In other words I finally got to see the highlights of the 'debate' between Nowinski and Steiner. Dear Scott, love you lots, but where in your lovely black and white world would you put us bleeeding heart liberals who were/are against the war, but back the troops. To quote someone who was way more intelligent than me, 'let the leaders go to war and leave the poor bloody infantry out of it.'

BTW how come I like the Le Resistance gimmick (although surely they out to have come out to the Marseilles) but can't stand the Mr. America gimmick?

Answers on a postcard please.

Okay, and why did I pop madly for it being Hogan coming back and boo equally hysterically about the gimmick.

Loved Piper's quote though, "America is not this stupidity." I am much with the Roddy love.

BTW, I'm pretty certain that Piper could be Mr. Europa. Think about it, bloated, with a vague sheen of corruption, not as powerful as it used to be, but still got it in the brains department. And despite all that it still has this strange charm.

Like I said in Missy's journal, I don't mind most of the screaming fangirls since I have been known to do OTT things due to footie. And one of the teams I have done this over were playing tonight.

Juventus v Barcalona, finished 2-2 aggregate at the end of 90 minutes, away goals are the same, so there's extra time. And Juve via Zalayeta (whose name I cannot spell) score. Does the golden goal rule come into effect, does it budgerigar. Apparently this has been tossed out of the window. Which I am ecstatic about. I just wished they'd thrown out that stupid rule before the world cup.

I think however I have hit angry point with some of the Hardy squeakers. Apparently Jeff wasn't getting enough opportunities because of his size. Apparently Vince McMahon has a big man fetish. Well duh, but they've all got to deal with the same problem.

Tonight I was deliberately channel flicking to Living. And the same two programmes were on again. And I figured out what the difference was and why the first is way better than the second. It's less explicit therefore there are no 'you realise that would be impossible unless the guy had a two foot schlong' moments.

The first one is actually quite sweet really. It has a moral and everything. Tonights was I believe if you go for it, good stuff happens. Oh and there was an f/f scene with masks and silk ties. Dude that's two of my kinks covered in one.

Okay truly random collection of thoughts ahoy!

I'm sad to hear about Jeff Hardy being released, not due to being a fan or anything like that but because things like that always sadden me.

On to happier matters, seeing RAW screencaps - Flair issoscute, and Nash isevencuter

Guess who just got to see the second half of Wrestlemania.

Hogan v McMahon, had everything but the kitchen sink. And was rather good. Was screaming and shouting, and generally marking out through out. Vince McMahon is extreme, and much though I occasionally suggest that his booking is stupid, I have nothing but respect for the man.

And his look when he came up with the lead pipe frightened me. Here's Vinnie indeed.

Marked out so huge for Hulk hulking up.

Rock v Austin was kind of blah. Sorry.

Lesnar v Angle meanwhile was rather good indeed. And if this is what they were like when one of them is injured then I hope to see more when Angle is fit again.

And if Angle wasn't da man already just for turning up and performing, having enough werewithal to cover up the accident and make it look planned is deserving of that status.

Also good were Cole and Tazz who also covered it up beautifully. Although if anyone happens to find Cole's voice when they're tidying up Saeco Field, I suggest they return it pronto.

Anyone know what the music they used during the Brock v Kurt build up was, because it was rather good.
redfiona99: (Default)
Ashanti singing American the Beautiful. Nothing against the singer or the song, but this is something I am quite glad about.

We got no Miller Catfight nonsense. Again I feel I am not missing much, plus they could really show it because I sense that Miller's isn't a Sky trading partner, plus the UK doesn't get the catfight adverts so it would have been pointless.

We also got no Limp Bizkit, at least so far, and this annoys me. Because I want to see their new guitarist.

And because (says in small voice) I wanted to hear Limp Bizkit, because they're not all that bad. In other words, I didn't like the WM song, heard it ad nauseum and now can't get it out of my head. Like every other LB song I have heard.
redfiona99: (Default)
The opening speech thing was just wow. And yes! And wow. It's also been Grand National day so the whole historical portent content of the day has been stupidly high.

The Matt facts continue to amuse me beyond belief, 'Matt Hardy doesn't know how they had Wrestlemania without him' was perfect.
The match was too short. Good but too short. And Rey Rey really is the human highlight reel. BTW did they just spray the top half of his suit on or what. That was beyond skin tight.

As ways of avoiding having Nathan Jones wrestle go, this one was A*. It was really rather brilliant. I've always said WWE is good at oddness.

Wow at the Women's match. Dear JR, yes Victoria and Stevie may be the poster kids for the mentally dysfunctional but we like 'em.

I want to be Jazz when I grow up.

Not that fond of the ending but the rest of the match was good.

The three way tag match was also too short. I really don't like the Guerreros' new entrance. The match really was too short.

Shawn Michaels rocks and so does Chris Jericho. Plus we got seriousJericho! which is always a good thing. HBK is the good kind of cocky.

I winced, shut my eyes, turned away and shrieked, all in a good way. Dude, I believed in the match. And the ending, and Jericho and HBK and the kick and the spit and the oh my this was good.

That's about it.

She called Benoit a hack.

A HACK I TELL YOU!

And she was saying that Rhyno doesn't seem to have the same oomph any more. Well no shit, he's just back off some serious neck surgery.

And yes, I know it's not nice to talk behind someone's back but it's either scream in here or go atomic over there.
