Went to the dentist today, I only had to have one re-fill done and he did it then and there so I don't have to come back for another 6 months. See there is a reason I don't want to change dentists.

Other than that, I watched the first Great Britain test match versus New Zealand

I have no idea what the translation is for the haka, but the one that the league boys do is positively lurid and suggestive.

Brent Webb's try was good. He might not be much good at the defensive part of the full back's job but at everything else. And a sneaky devil to boot. He ripped the ball twice and got away with it both times. The standard of refereeing and linesmanning was apalling because both sides were getting away with forward passes, and the Aussie ref was so blatently playing for the New Zealanders.

Funniest thing - one of the big New Zealanders, probably Soliola, tried to smack into Brian Carney as hard as he could to try and stop him running. End result, Carney leaving him for dust, and one crumpled New Zealander on the floor. Dear Sir, Carney used to play Gaelic football, there's nothing you can do to scare him.

Lee Gilmour (must remember not to call him Dave) got in one heck of a tackle on one of the New Zealanders (possibly Kirwall).

Dear Adrian Morley, how dare you be nice enough that I have to be nice about you. I mean, he's still an over-rated thug, but when Stuart Fielden, a man who holds himself to entirely ridiculous standards, dropped the ball, and looked so utterly disgusted at himself, he ran over and reasoned with him, and just so much love for Morley right now.

It has to be said about Fielden that Stevo, one of the commentators, in a moment of brilliance called him the perpetual motion prop forward.

In defence of Jason Cayless's hair - it's very much less stupid than his brother's. Until today I was unaware that bad choice in hairstyles was a genetic trait, but now I know.

The commentators also remarked how cool and calm James Roby was on his international debut, down to carrying the ball in one hand, and what confidence he had, and I did feel like saying, "Damn right, 'cause he's a Saints boy and we have nothing to fear from anyone."

Also well done the boys for carrying on and getting the difference down to 14-18 after they were 2-18 down.

It was probably just as well that the match got discounted because New Zealand were fielding an ineligible player.

Jimmy Yang v Shane Helms was a good match, nice and tight.
I also really enjoyed Regal v Spanky, which was far better than it had any right to be.
The bit at the end of the Mr. Kennedy segment with the raining blood was a classic.
Benoit v Finlay was a bit meh.
Funniest line goes to JBL, talking about the Spirit Squad v the Legends Survivor Series match - "The coffin dodgers, and Ron, versus the male cheerleaders." I have no idea what I enjoyed more, the line, or that he didn't include Farooq among the coffin dodgers.
JBL was also the only thing making the Boogeyman match bareable.
Long live King Booker.

PS: Dear Smackdown and WWE in general, Belfast is not in Ireland.

Only saw 2 things:
1) I realise that I should have cheered for Kenny since he's shiny, new and young, but how can I cheer against Dusty Rhodes.
2) It's a shame that Lita's promoing abilities have finally come together just when she's retiring. Also am I the only one begging for either the Fabulous Moolah or Trish to interfere at Survivor Series because of what Lita said. I'm well aware neither will happen, but a girl can dream, can't she?

And a very silly meme, pinched from nhw:

Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. etc.

Data
Elrond
Jack Harkness
Kurogane
Owen Harper
The tenth Doctor
The third Doctor
Wolverine

Data and Elrond - Would actually be quite interesting because you have a non-human trying to become human and a half-human who chose not to be and there'd be issues and talking and everything.

Jack Harkness and Kurogane - Would probably end badly, what with one of them being an immortal who hates it and the other being someone who is skipping between worlds to try and get back home. I can kind of imagine them bonding over their shared dislocation but no more than that because Kurogane would leave once Sakura's feather was found, and then there would be angst.

Owen Harper and the tenth Doctor - I sense that the Doctor would not approve of Owen, and it would be even more bad wrong than the thing that I shan't mention because it's a spoiler for Countrycide, but you all know what I mean. I also feel that Jack would not approve of Owen having it away with any Doctor.

The third Doctor and Wolverine - It must be remembered that I'm a 'the Doctor doesn't dance' person. So no. But I can imagine them bonding over karate in Japan.

I like the Data/Elrond pairing too.

Belfast is certainly in Ireland geographically, if not politically!

Oh I know it is geographically, but normally they announce people as being from either somewhere, US State, or city, England or just from Japan, so I found it quite interesting that they'd decided to put Belfast in Ireland.
