Date: 2006-11-18 04:10 pm (UTC)Jimmy appreciates Jamie, because Jamie is about the only person who never made fun of him for what he has to agree is a mighty strange obsession with cowboys and rednecks and such. Jamie just accepts it and moves on. It makes him good company and fun to be with.
Jamie likes Jimmy, always has, even back when, because he knows it was only Lia Miaow that caused the problems with the Jung Dragons, and well, okay, he accepts he might have been his bad influence from then that set Jimmy off, but it's not like there's anything wrong with wanting to be a cowboy, and Jamie's kind of pleased that someone appreciates him for who he is.

Date: 2007-01-10 01:05 am (UTC)Roger loves Marat because he doesn't expect things. He doesn't expect him to be Federer the unstoppable all the time, because it does get a little wearing. All that Marat expects is to be treated like an adult and not to be lied to, and Roger finds that easy enough. It's so little to ask for. Marat reminds him so much of Mirka that it's uncanny. Neither of them expects too much of him.

It was an odd way of looking at things, he knew he should have looked out for his future more, but it was impossible to leave the way things were, because he knew no one would have begrudged him, and if that wasn't a reason for staying, nothing was. If he thought they would have tried to stop him, he probably would have gone, but when he'd gone to training, and was leaving the changing room, to have Alessandro come up to him, smile fully in place, and say that if he went with Fabio, not one person would object. How are you supposed to turn your back on that.

Juan Carlos didn't fuss. That shouldn't have been as much of a plus point for Marat as it was. He just got on with his tennis and, yes, of course he was determined, but he wasn't obsessive like other people Marat could think of. It made life so much easier.
Marat wasn't Spanish. It was not a good sign about life in general that that was one of the first things he thought of when it came to Marat's good points. Plus that was selling him short, he was great fun to be with and it made practising that bit nicer. That was probably the real reason Juan-Carlos loved practising with him.

Date: 2006-11-20 06:58 pm (UTC)The children see Scott as a figure of authority, someone who knows everything, is reliable, honest and the very embodiment of responsibility. He knows that he never used to be. He used to be the exact opposite. A few people know, the Professor obviously, Jean, Bobby, Hank, Warren, probably Emma, but Jean was the first person who met him back then who looked at him like he could be who he is today. The Professor did too, but that's different, because that's how he looks at everyone. He wanted to be the man she could see for her, for himself too, but it was nice to have someone there who wanted it as much as he did.
Jean can understand why Logan is confused as to why she loves Scott. He's not as handsome, or rich, as Warren, he's not as easy-going as Bobby and he's nowhere near as adorable as Hank, but Logan doesn't know half of who she is, the half that was in an asylum till Charles and Erik got her out of there, the half that needed someone to just be there for her and Scott was that. His probably clumsy attempts to get her to notice him got her smiling again. Well she presumes they were clumsy compared to other boys except she didn't notice at the time because she thought he was awfully sweet.
It was nice to have someone else who understood what it was like to not be like other people, not even be like other mutants. The nicest thing was that as she changed, got used to being around people again, generally grew up, so did Scott, and they've been entwined like ivy since. No, she doesn't think Logan understands at all.

Date: 2007-12-27 11:42 pm (UTC)Petey loves Sabin because of how laid-back he is. He loves his boys but it can be a little intense being Captain all the time. Chris just lets things be, which is a blessed relief.
Chris loves Petey because he's so serious about everything. Pretty much everyone else (okay, with the notable and total exception of Daniels) is laid back like him, but it's nice to have someone to talk to who feels the same way about the X-division title.
