Jimmy appreciates Jamie, because Jamie is about the only person who never made fun of him for what he has to agree is a mighty strange obsession with cowboys and rednecks and such. Jamie just accepts it and moves on. It makes him good company and fun to be with.
Jamie likes Jimmy, always has, even back when, because he knows it was only Lia Miaow that caused the problems with the Jung Dragons, and well, okay, he accepts he might have been his bad influence from then that set Jimmy off, but it's not like there's anything wrong with wanting to be a cowboy, and Jamie's kind of pleased that someone appreciates him for who he is.
