Apr. 28th, 2019 03:37 pmSince another fic has reached 1000 AO3 hits, I have updated this graph.

The curve no longer looks as nice, I think because there's still a low number of incidents (fics hitting 1000), and because I'm basically doing a belts and braces version of visualising it. I have got a link to a guide to how to do this in R somewhere, I've just got to find it and once I do, I should be able to produce a nicer graph.
The difference in likelihood of reaching 1000 is still not significant.

Date: 2019-04-28 05:05 pm (UTC)I don't get a lot of practice reading graphs in the presence of someone who can actually tell me if I've got it wrong, so hope you don't mind...

Date: 2019-04-30 06:17 pm (UTC)I think partly it's a low number of things being followed (fics) and a very low number of events (fics hitting 1000 hits) that's skewing it. Hopefully we're doing some stuff about power calculations at work soon that I can (mis)apply to this :)
