I had lots of fun at Summer Sundae. As with most things Leicester it was very laid-back and chill. I can see why a lot of people go in groups, because yeah, it's fun talking about everyone's experiences and having someone to dance with. At the same time, the major advantage of going solo was that I could do my own thing and not have to oblige anyone else. I think I ended up with a good mix because a couple of my friends were about so we could compare notes but I got to do my own thing.

If you're ever in the vicinity and have the time and money, I recommend Summer Sundae. It's a nice, cute, little festival.

TV meme: Day 15 - Favourite female character

Major Kira, how I love you.

If it was her, it would be Ivanova, or Noin or Aeryn Sun, I got very lucky with the female characters on TV when I've been watching it. Also, noticably, given that sci-fi is supposed to be a male ghetto, they're all sci-fi characters.

What I like about them isn't that they're kick ass, although I do like this, it's that they're interesting people and are never dependent on being the love interest.

Leicester is awesome.

Today is carnival day in Leicester, because, as well as having the biggest Divali celebration in the country, we have the second biggest Caribbean carnival in the country, after the Notting Hill one. Much fun was had by all, people were laughing, dancing, and it was totally inclusive, Chinese grannies dancing next to 5 year old boys, and girls of every size and shape jigging like crazy.

Loved up-edness may also be due having a massage, I feel like liquid gold.

I have found out why I recognised Alice Carter from Children of Earth, she was in a Wycliffe. This is why we should support dramas rather than reality tv shows. It means young actors get exposure.

Lizzie, if you're ever in Leicester you must go to the New Walk gallery, there's an Ancient Egypt exhibition, which while it is nothing special features the following:

4 mummies - variously a priest of Min (which one's Min), a scribe, a teenage girl and a poor unfortunate female mummy who got put in the wrong box so that the future Edward VII could discover something on one of his trips to Egypt.

Stuff discovered by Petrie

And, the pies de resistance, a mummified cat, a mummified kitten and two mummified falcons.

Also there's an interesting portrait exhibition on at the moment and a dinosaur thing. But I figured that most people would be interested in the mummies.

See, this is why I shouldn't be allowed to go to museums, they excite me :)

Sete Gibernau in the motorbikes makes Kimi Raikonnen seem lucky. Pech happened again.
But Jeremy McWilliams got to race (he's the person I'm numbered 99 after). Admittedly this was only because KR racing's engine manufacturers pulled out and he's the only one stupid enough to race last year's Proton engine, which didn't work even when it was new, and definitely doesn't work now.

Will probably end up watching the things about Nelson's Navy tonight, but apart from that there's nothing else on so I will be very, very bored.
