My main one is the whole Eli Drake vs Drew Galloway feud. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. I am totally here for that feud, it looks like it will be my kind of nonsense.
I would put Eli Drake's bit of this promo here but TNA have decided not to upload it, despite it being useful for Eli Drake, because see also, frustrating company, because I wanted to be nice about that promo. So have the Drew Galloway bit of the intro.
Now, as I said, I am complete here for the feud. You've got Eli Drake, asshole heel (done well), being mean to brave, valiant Drew Galloway. You've got them finally giving Drake enough mic time that I can remember his name (admittedly they do this by having him repeat his name multiple times in the promo, to the point that the Pope lampshades it*. Drew Galloway, meanwhile, is being his charming murderous self and there's a reason for the feud. All is good.
Unfortunately, how much better would this have been if Drake had turned on Galloway while the Rising was still together. My only suspicion, other than TNA having the planning capabilities of an amoeba, is that they had nothing for t'other 'un to do in that feud, hence them splitting them up first. Because of course, the Rising vs the BDC ended up meaning so much.
Given that the BDC have dissolved due to at least two of them no longer being employed by TNA, this could have been so much better.
Moving on:
Why is Bram fighting Magnus? Fine, Bram hates everyone and wants to fight, but he's in a feud with Anderson, while Magnus is feuding with James Storm. This match, it makes no sense.
Serena in the Revolution. Actually, I'm being slightly unfair, because her promo was good and it made sense, and made James Storm and her sound like whiny, loser heels (in the good way) and I have nothing against her. It's just that TNA have a Jess Havok, and her look works with the Revolution a lot more and ... I do wish TNA would learn to use what they have rather than bringing more people in, only for them to vanish afterwards.
The annoyances are not spoilery:
- Just say no to political angles, TNA. They never end well. (Although if someone who actually hablos Espanyol would care to watch the Tigre Uno bit, I'd be obliged because I am willing to swear that while they're not mis-translating what he's saying, they're not translating it in exact order either.)
- Stop it with the unnecessary gimmick matches. There was no reason for Rockstar Spud vs Eric Young to be a chain match. Save those kind of gimmicks for blow off matches that actually matter, not random throw-away matches. Otherwise the gimmicks lose their "shock" value.
* I know I am in my usual minority of one on this, but I'm really digging Pope and Josh Matthews on commentary.
