The reason for the gap was because I found this an impossible question to answer. Because I strongly suspect that Naoko Mori and Burn Gorman are the best actors. But John Barrowman was a children's TV presenter when I was little (wiki says he was on Live and Kicking which I don't remember, but that doesn't mean he wasn't), particularly on The Movie Game (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Movie_Game_(UK_TV_series)), which two of the people from the year above me in primary school went on (I think they came second in their episode). So I sort of come pre-programmed to like him best.

Also, it took me years but I finally figured out it was him that Tom Cruise reminded me of. It's the blindingly white Hollywood teeth, the dark hair/blue eyes combo and the mild air of unreality about their person.
