redfiona99Q. When did the terms "United Kingdom", " UK" come into common usage? Was it post Suez Crisis (1956)?
Any ideas?
The reason he's asking is because he was reading through newspaper coverage of WWI and most of the it talks of England, Scotland etc rather than United Kingdom.
