Meme 1
- Write down 10 of your favorite OTPs
- Put your IPOD/Media Player on shuffle. The number of the song corresponds to the number of the OTPs
- Quote a part of the song that you think has any similarity with the story of the couple
- Comment.
So I hold my breath 'til my heart explodes
Cause this is how it is and this is how it goes
You can steal my body but you can't steal my soul
How It Goes by Billy Talent
Given Rogue's powers, this works remarkably well.
Oh boy are large chunks of She Bangs The Drum ever apt. Even if I can't see Marcus Cole liking the Stone Roses.
She'll be the first she'll be the last
is what I'll choose for a quote but it's a close run thing because, as I say, large amounts of aptness.
Ended up with Holiday by Green Day. See also bands I can't see either of them liking. Also, I can't find any lyric in the song that even vaguely fits.
Recover by The Automatic
There's the bit that's very Zechs
"I tried to help but I failed
To solve the problems so much
Of good intentions" but nothing particularly Noin/Zech-ish.
Got Happy Together by the Turtles
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
Given their situation in canon, I can see that bit fitting.
Cut The Curtain by Billy Talent (yes, I have a lot of Billy Talent on my mp3 player)
Nothing that works, although I am tempted by
"Let's buy back our souls
So let's see
We've got 5 bucks between you and me"
Which works really well for The Moth Don't Care If The Flame Is Real
Voices of Violence by Billy Talent
These cowboys, will ride off in the sunset
Once their toys, have turned another profit
Backfire, these smoking guns will never rest
Unleash the, skeletons from the closet
How You Remind Me
Which is possibly the least Zoe/Wash song in existence.
Blue Monday by New Order. I'm passing no comment over it actually being the Orgy version I'm listening to.
How does it feel
To treat me like you do
When you've laid laid your hands upon me
And told me who you are
It does actually kind of work.
Sit Down by James
Which is not fair because for such a happy sounding tune, it really does work. And wah!
2nd Meme - Day 24 – Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?
I don't tend to get my fics beta-ed. Mostly because they tend to be, at maximum, 2000 words and I ought to be able to get that much done properly myself. Especially at the speed I write.
There are exceptions, of course. For instance, for A Short Week of Long Days I'd been writing it for 6-7 years and so could recite chunks of it in my sleep almost so there was no way I was going to be able to tell if it even worked for someone who wasn't me, and
opera142 was kind enough to beta it for me.
And if I'm doing a fest/ficathon where they ask for the fics to be beta-ed I try to get one. I've never had a bad experience. The Time Between wouldn't have been half as good without
renata_kedavra's fantastic beta-ing.
