Football, TNA Slammiversary and RL

Portugal vs Denmark - all I have to say is damn it.
Germany vs Netherlands - I have seen total football, and it wasn't the men in orange playing it. The libero has the ball control skills of a good attacking midfielder. There is the wonderful formation and control and precision. It's Jerome Boateng, who never gets enough praise. It is impossible to give him enough praise.
And old Pig-climber, who covers more yardage than is entirely possible.
And Mario Gomez, who seems to have remembered that he's a forward. Podolski still hasn't, but as long as Germany keep winning (unless they run into Italy*) I will behave.
* Austria are out, I can cheer for whoever I want to.
Also re: Euro 2012
Insomnia has lead to some data wrangling. If you separate the player diagram out into communities, defined by how much they interact, the interesting thing is that you get 15 groups, not 16. Apparently, when you judge the interactions, the Netherlands and Sweden are so tightly grouped that they're the same country.

Slammiversary
Opening, once Hogan had shut up, was a fantastic Austin Aries vs Samoa Joe match. I mean really good. Like old school TNA good.
Kash vs Hernandez was pretty nifty too. Kash is an evil little blighter. The camera work is terrible mind.
Oh Daniels. You're an evil little nerk. Apparently they're two world's worth of world tag team champions.
My darlin' cowboy is back.
Knockout's match also good. Miss Tessmacher is not bad, and Gail Kim is her usual good self.
You want to know how good Bully Ray is? He's making us cheer for a lawyer.
The AJ Styles thing doesn't work, because no one cares. I think the "shock" is supposed to be that clean cut AJ Styles would have nookie with a lady who is not his wife. Except, we don't care. It's AJ Styles, we love him. It's Dixie, it can be generally agreed, she's pretty, we're not going to say anything other than 'well played AJ', because we know AJ Styles, if he's schtupping the boss, he is only going to be schtupping her, he's not going to be asking for favours, because he's AJ, and we know he's a good guy. And I don't think the writers get that.
So when Hogan yells at AJ when he wanders off to console Dixie, we're not thinking, reasonable authority figure, we're thinking, 'it's AJ, cut him a break, he's doing his best'. I think they're going for shades of grey, but it's more 'meh'. And it's not AJ, or Daniels and Kazarian's, fault, it just doesn't work. It isn't just me saying this, student at work who also watches wrestling, says exactly the same thing.
The AJ 'n' Angle vs Kazarian 'n' Daniels match is, of course, v. good, and they're telling a story. Twig, Daniels and AJ had the stupid bump of the night (honourable mentions to Kaz n Angle). Some things will never change.
TNA, because you've managed to have the rest of the PPV finish clean, I'll give you whatever hijinks you have planned for the main event. And guess what, there were shennanigans. No one is surprised by this any more. Also, I expect a guilt-ridden promo from Sting - beating up referees is not on. No matter how annoying Roode is.

RL features obnoxious proteins, annoying competition organisers, mortgages and trying to write a letter to a friend of my father's that I've never met before. My bashfulness is expressing itself in dithering. It just kind of odd introducing myself to anyone as my father's daughter, because well, I've never done that before.
