CSI, TNA and a question
Jan. 25th, 2012 02:52 pmSo, thanks to Channel 5's CSI Sundays I've been catching up on CSI: Vegas flavour episodes that I've missed. And there's an episode 'A Thousand Days on Earth' (which is season 8 ep 13) which does so many clever things (like discussing the whole 'pretty victims get more pity' and the issues with sex offender registers that take no account of what someone got caught doing, and the whole thing being a trail and tragedy of misunderstanding, panic and miscommunication) that it annoys me that they don't do it more often.

TNA is TNA which means ... well it means that I like individual segments but have issues with the whole.
They've got me convinced enough about Gunnar's evil that I was worried about AJ. AJ showed brains (!!) and took the crowd escape route at the end of the match. There was, of course, interference from Kazarian and Daniels. Daniels is a mean evil cult leader who is making Kazarian do bad things that Kaz doesn't want to do. Also, when AJ got pinned he was mouthing 'see, this is exactly what I mean'. But beyond that, we know nothing.
I appear to have been unfair to Madison Rayne, either that or Mickie James could wrestle a good match with a rock. Either way, good match.
So A-Double comes out giving it large about how he has no competition in the X-division, and he's beaten all of them, and how, basically, unless they want to loosen the weight limit to give him someone bigger to fight against, there's no point to it all and he might as well retire himself and the belt.
Cue the Motor City Machine Guns entrance music, and Shelley, with even stupider hair than usual, comes out, to a rockstar-sized pop.
He and Aries banter and trade barbs, and Shelley said he'd asked Sabin for permission to compete without him (please excuse my squeeing) and Sabin was cool with it. So yes, there was a challenge that Aries weaselled out of by going 'you don't get to just walk out and demand a match, you've got to beat one of the guys I've beaten' and Shelley says Aries gets to choose which guy and when 'I've beaten him I see you at [whatever the next PPV is]'.
So I'll probably get either Shelley vs Kash or Shelley vs Zeema Ion and then Shelley vs Aries. :D
Garrett Bischoff - who I'd probably like, if I didn't want to yell 'nepotism' at the screen - Anyway, my money is on him being trained by a certain red and yellow egomaniac.
Magnus styling and profiling while beating up Morgan made me happy. Morgan taking forever to come rescue Crimson did not.
Not that I don't like Winter dressed like that photo of Mrs. Peel and whaling away with a leather strap on ODB but this angle is only going to end badly.
The thoroughly improbable happened and Jeff Hardy came out for a match not wearing face paint.
You know what I love joint most about Storm. When things go bad, he actually looks like whatever it is has torn the heart right out of him.
Bobby Roode is a first class heel. Please can I punch him in the face?

Figure skating
Through methodology best not discussed, I have tickets for two days of the European figure skating championships this weekend. Any suggestions on how snuggly warm I ought to be dressed?
