Day 22 - Favourite series finale
By this I'm assuming that they mean last episode of a show, so I am going with 'Apocalypse Wow!' from This Life. Let me assure you that the title is earned.
Great ginourmous spoilers for a show that's been over for OMG it can't be 13 years already lie below.
It resolves the ongoing plot lines such as Egg finding out about Milly's affair with O'Donnell, and Miles and Anna and Miles's marriage to Francesca, and various side characters misadventures while opening new ones if they decided to go with a third series (they didn't). They do all of this without making it seem final, or suffering from 'the finale must explain everything' syndrome and they manage to keep everyone in character.

Clockwide from top left: Warren, Miles, Anna, Egg and Milly.

Clockwise from top left: Egg, Rachel, Anna, Milly, Kira, Miles and Jo.
First you've got the location, which is Miles and Francesca's wedding. Miles, brilliantly played by Jack Davenport, in a role which made it very hard for me to feel sympathetic to any character he played for about a year, him changing his haircut helped enourmously. Miles is every middle class boy who got to where he is because his parents had money and sees nothing wrong with this. He is smug and unbareable. He and his housemate, Anna, had a thing/have a thing/will continue to have a thing. Anna, who really should be on my favourite female characters list, is the bolshie Glaswegian firebreathing dragon of a woman. She's strong and clever and mouthy and has realistic soft spots. Anna for reasons passing all understanding (including her own) loves Miles. And hates him. The two of them were together and are now not, and also share an office at work. Miles gets yet another girlfriend that is far too good for him called Francesca.
Francesca has a secret. She is, in fact, not the 30 she's been passing herself off as, but 36 (this is important as one of the reasons why Anna and Miles split up was because she would never willingly be little wifey in the kitchen with multiple children). She tells Anna this, because they get on like a house on fire. Anna tells her to tell Miles and makes lots of useful suggestions. Miles, because he is Miles and is a douchebag, freaks and goes to Anna for advice. Anna sets him straight, particularly in regards to Francesca being awesome. Miles agrees to go through with the wedding.
Meanwhile, Milly and Egg, who had been going out since they started university (so about 5-6 years) have split up because Egg found out about her affair with her boss, O'Donnell. The show rather sensibly makes it quite clear that while this is a bad thing, Egg remains terrible boyfriend material quite often (at other times he's awesome) and that, were it not for the fact that O'Donnell is horrifically repellant, no one would really blame Milly. Milly does not know how Egg found out.
Bear in mind that all the above parties live together.
On to the day itself.
Anna spends the wedding outside on the registry office steps, crying. She goes outside because she doesn't want to spoil her friend's wedding day. (I did mention that Anna is awesome, right?)
Milly comes outside to comfort her, because Milly is a good friend. They sit outside talking until the reception. Milly figures out who had to have told Egg about her and O'Donnell. It is Rachel, another lawyer in their company, who is basically the year below Anna, Miles, Milly et al.
Milly snaps and goes charging in to the reception, and punches Rachel in the face, which leads to this.

The fight scene is suitably realistic, in that neither girl can fight, but boy do they try hard. There is scratching and clawing and I think either Milly or Rachel ends up doing a mischief to the person holding them back.
As this is happening, we see a fair haired, tanned person in a terribly loud Hawaiian shirt. It is Warren who has been travelling the world to find himself post being sacked by the law firm for getting arrested for cottaging (he was fired by O'Donnell for bringing the name of the firm into disrepute (yup, that O'Donnell, who has slept with a wide variety of female underlings). His response to the scene of chaos is 'Excellent'.
That was the first thing I ever wrote on my bedroom wall, in the patch that became my scrible pad for comedians, bands and actors whose names I wanted to remember. My mother is pleased that I use a laptop for this now.
A great finale.
