Paying It Forwards and the TV meme

Paying it forwards - badbookworm, who is a friend of mine on a different account, hosted a needs post. You posted what you needed, other people helped out. Since what I really need is September to be two weeks longer, and other metaphysically impossible things (although if someone wants to write me a doctor's note claiming I've come down with sudden onset ebola, I'd be obliged), I'm doing my bit of the paying it forward here.

I said I'd point out Tormented Artifacts which "designs custom leather and plastic masks, rubber and leather fashion accessories, occult-themed wall scrolls, gasmask art, and some other highly unique props", and, in particular, they make an interesting card deck called the Windrow-Ravenswood Playing Deck.

A more general one is that if anyone knows of a middle level office management position in Portland, Oregon, and they have the time to pass the details on to me, I'll pass them onto someone who fits that description.

TV meme: Day 14 - Favourite male characters

Again, I'm not going with one because as far as I can tell, they come in two distinct groups.

Group 1 is clever sciencey types that I want to grow up to be, such as Spock and Data and the Doctor.

Group 2 is the 'terrible moment of hideous recognition of your character flaws' group. An awful lot them are also sciency types but they tend towards the bitter and flawed, see Owen Harper and Avon.

Of course, there's plenty of characters that I love that are neither of those, but I do detect an unfortunate pattern.
