Football:
I was right, the minute one of the "big" teams gets a goal disallowed due to the goal line problem, there's going to be another review. Ah, Sepp, so transparent.
I've also discovered that even in a match where I don't care who wins, I still hate seeing people go out on penalties. Poor Japan.
Other than that, I have no idea what to predict for the quarters.
Netherlands v Brazil - if this were the old school Dutch and the old school Brazilians I'd say Brazil without a moments doubt, now, I'm not so sure.
Ghana v Uruguay - talk about a team where I want both sides to win. I can see this going either way, because Ghana have a nice solid defence and Uruguay have a very patient and potent attack.
Argentina v Germany - Argentina ought to win this, and yet, the Germans are the Germans.
Spain v Paraguay - Vamos Paraguay I say. It's not going to happen, but I can hope, right.

Babylon 5:
Amusingly, given that
opera142 has just started watching it and
evilgmbethy was thinking about starting watching it, my housemate has started his rewatch of Babylon 5.
Which meant I got to see the pilot again. Now, it has it's weaknesses, but damnit it if doesn't have some awesome moments, Londo's shark-related speech to Garibaldi in particular. It also gives you something new each time. For instance, the shapeshifter as Lyta's body fights like a Mimbari. I hadn't noticed that before.
I also think that it gained something by the enforced re-casting because it meant that instead of the usual problem that early episodes of shows have where it's all 'you, my friend that I have known for 10 years, let me ask you this question that I should know the answer to already', it's 'you, new person, I need to know this about you,' and the new person is being guarded because they don't know that person yet.
There's also some interesting things if you know what happens to some of the characters.
I'd forgotten how much Garibaldi is Sinclair's man. Which makes the "betrayal" in season 4 work better, because I don't think even Bester could have got Garibaldi to turn against Sinclair.
Also Michael O'Hare's particular style of acting works better if you know he's going to become Valen. No matter how much I personally like Sinclair, for all his stiffness, I'll grant he doesn't come across well.
I also keep forgetting how obnoxious, if justifiably so, G'Kar is at the start.
