What on earth are pre-season games, and do they count for anything? Sorry if it's a very stupid question, but I'm new to sport.

the preseason doesnt count its basically games after training camp where the coaches fool around with lines and get the players used to playing 'real' games, but they arent real games *giggle*

They try out young guys and stuff too :)
