A Correction
Have been in contact with K. I misremembered the story in regards to the sane Republican in Oregon, and it was before K was even born. The general point remains, but the anecdote is gone ;) I'll fix the actual post in a tic.

Proper post later, but I'm still doing some serious cogitating about the last two episode of Dr Who. I think I'm less fond of The Beast Below than most people but more fond of whatever the most recent Pepperpot episode was called. Despite the despotic pepperpots, I did find myself quite enjoying it.
Instead, a meme:
- Write down 10 of your favorite OTPs
- Put your IPOD/Media Player on shuffle. The number of the song corresponds to the number of the OTPs
- Quote a part of the song that you think that have any similarity with the story of the couple
- Comment.
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness and water
They cannot see me naked.
Nightswimming by REM
It's the nearest line I could get anyway.
I've been lyin' in the bright lights
See my shadow from below
Never wanted from another man
Never wanted from my own
Fault Line by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (my favourite song of theirs).
I can't even talk to you
Too Fake by Hockey, literally the only line that even vaguely fits. Because teen angst and Ivanova do not mix.
Keep smiling through just like you always do.
Til' the blue skies drive the grey clouds far away.
We'll Meet Again, Johnny Cash version.
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world
The Man Who Sold The World, Nirvana version.
In the ev'ning I will fly you to the moon
To the top right hand corner of
the ceiling in my room
In The Morning by Nina Simone
There's something pleasingly domestic and smutty about this.
Depending on which version of this pairing, there's at least one line that fits in perfectly with a fic I wrote:
What else could I write,
I don't have the right.
All Apologies, Sinead O'Connor version.
I'm bringing sexy back
Them other fuckers don't know how to act
Come let me make up for the things you lack
'Cause your burning up I gotta get it fast
Sexy Back - Placebo version.
Though I've tried before to tell him
Of the feelings I have for him in my heart
Everytime that I come near him
I just lose my nerve
As I've done from the start
Every Little Thing He Does Is Magic, Shawn Colvin version of the Police's Every Little Thing. I'm taking this as a sign, since the pronouns were right ;)
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
And hoped it was a lie.
Which I do think sums them up rather well.
