day 01 | a song
day 02 | a picture
day 03 | a book/ebook/fanfic
day 04 | a site
day 05 | a youtube clip
day 06 | a quote
day 07 | whatever tickles your fancy
Slight amount of cheating as this is a short story, although it is fanfic by someone who writes books. Neil Gaiman to be more exact. The story I'm recommending is 'A Study In Emerald' which is a Cthulu/Holmes mash-up, and I love it beyond distraction. When I first read it I knew nothing about Cthulu and it still worked. On the Holmes side, it's one of the most glorious Holmes-take offs I've ever read. The detail and the tone is right and it should be read by all Sherlockians.
The illustrations are also a sight to be seen. They're so wondefully creepy.
So, without further ado:
