F1 first:
Rubihno won.
I am very happy. Everyone is happy. He got the entire pit lane clapping him in.
Ross Brawn is the man. He out-thought two teams and his first thought on winning was 'how are England doing in the cricket', cue the BBC interviewer getting him the info.
Cricket:
England won the Ashes. This is v. surprising. Will deck anyone who is mean about Flintoff. Yes, he's retiring from Test cricket way too soon, but when you have to have two operations (and about 5 cortizone injections) to get through 5 matches, you are allowed to retire.
Also Flintoff did this - http://www.cricinfo.com/engvaus/content/image/215335.html
He'd just bowled Brett Lee out to win a match against the dreaded Aussies and his first thing isn't to celebrate, it's to commiserate. I <3 you so much, Mr. Flintoff, and damned proud you're a fellow countyman. Lancashire FTW!
His replacement, in terms of all-roundiness and energy and loveable puppiness, is Stuart Broad. Who looks like this - http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/aug/07/ashes-stuart-broad-england-australia
I live in hope he will grow out of his more than occasional looks like 12 year old moments.
Football:
I really is an old favourites kind of day. Why did no one tell me Ciro Ferrara is the new Juve head coach?
