In case anyone is wondering why Mariusz has made a re-appearance in my icons.

With Igor Werner (Ger), Stegan Solvi Petursson (Iceland), Jason Bergman (US), Jarek Dymek (Pol), Mark Felix (UK) and Derek Poundstone (US).

They keep saying that it's Poundstone's first World's Strongest Man but I've seen him in other Strongman events and he's been awesome in all of them.

Dear commentators, no, none of us were thinking of Magnus ver Magnusson in relation to Petursson until you mentioned him. We are sensible enough to realise not all Icelanders are the same.

God bless Jarek, he cheered on Bergman who he was up against in the Fingers. Jason Bergman deserves a little blessing too, because he's tiny for a Strongman, so you know, huge, but all things are relative.

Apparetnyl Poundstone's a policeman in real life, goodness knows I wouldn't break the law in his vicinity.

Poundstone and Bergman through.

Sebastian Wenta (Pol), Richard Skog (Nor), Johannes Arsjo (Swe), Phil Pfister (US), Ollie Thompson (GB) and Tobias Ide (Ger). Pfister's on home soil, this being Charlestown, WV.

Skog is an ex-Marine, so I vote we don't annoy the Norwegians. Talking about the Scandanavians, both Arsjo and yesterday's Icelander have been pumped up and generally Viking powered.

Sebastian Wenta appears to be not working in some way, to the point where Dymek is having to help him wobble off after the barrel dead lift.

Pfister appears to be contemplating retirement, or at least a long break, and was waxing practically poetical about the sport and what it is to be a Strongman (he said it wasn't just physical, there was a lot of emotional and mental stuff as well). He has most definitely been using his smarts in the heat.

Ollie Thompson seems to be another one suffering from being too small. Of course given the dimensions they're giving, especially for Pfister, I'm have a bit of a scale problem. Dear me, these men are huge.

Wenta has staged a remarkable comeback, he just got the quickest on the Atlas stones, and he'd done well in the log lift. Wenta and Pfister through.
