Music quiz, stolen from Stasia
Jan. 11th, 2003 11:03 pmWhat band / artist have you been playing the most this month?:
Andrew WK and the Manics, I guess.
What was the last CD you bought?:
Embrace - The Good Will Out (Highly recommended, a most underated band)
Do you like mix tapes?:
Depends, when my friends do them yes, or ones I did years ago, back when radio was good, are fun.
What genres of music do you most enjoy?:
Anything pretty much.
What song / album / artist do you play in the bath?:
None, due to the whole electricity + bathroom = bad equation.
Name a band / song that is special to you, and explain why:
Manics of course, because they pretty much saved my life (as dorky as it sounds) and 'No Surface, All Feeling'.
Oasis - Wonderwall/Don't Look Back In Anger - my last summer in Primary school, and all the memories that go with that.
Green Day - Time of Your Life (Good Riddance) - last day in secondary school again for the memories.
(Stasia, it appears we are of a similar vintage)
Christina Aguilera - What a Girl Wants - one friend who introduced me to that
Tonnes more of course.
Have you ever been certain a song was written just for you?
'No Surface, All Feeling' the Manics, or 'Born a Girl' again by the Manics.
If you could go on stage with anyone + duet with them; who would it be, what song would you sing, and why?:
I wouldn't, I can't sing. But playing bass on 'Warning' would be cool.
Does your style match your music taste?:
No, I tend to go for thrift store sensible, which so doesn't go with the music I mainly listen to.
What band / song could you never get bored of?:
Manics and everything of theirs. 'Everything Must Go' the album in particular, I listen to that every night for about 6 months.
What song would you like to have dirty rough sex to?:
Anything by Massive Attack, seedy dance music yay.
List five bands + a song of theirs that you love:
Manic Street Preachers - 'No Surface, All Feeling'
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - 'The Humming Song'
Ill Nino - 'Liar'
Lars Friedriksen and the Bastards - 'To Have and ...." whatever the end of the title is
Dark Star - '3am'
If you had a band - what would you call them and what would be your role?:
Name? I've always been dreadful with names, something like 'The Mercurials', or 'The Tilted Windmills'
Bass (if I ever learn it properly) or keyboards. Part of me wants to be like Burt Bacharach and hide behind curtains while other people do my songs.
Who would you do a support slot for?:
(Crosses out the Manics since we'd never be good enough for them) Rammstein, some strange part of me wants to tour with Rammstein
Have you ever been in love with a song / band?:
I'm in love with music, I can't help it.
What song never fails to make you cry?:
'Left Behind' - Slipknot, 'Rare Old Town' the Dubliners, 'Young Willie McBride (it's not called that, it's about the first World War, and Willie McBride is the name of someone buried where the writer stops to sit down, I could write most of the lyrics, but I won't),'And the band played Waltzing Matilda'.
Is there any song that you just can't bear to listen to, because of the memories? (if so, what + why):
Not really, there's a tonne of songs that have bad memories, but they're just as important as good ones.
What song would you say is your theme song?:
'To Have and...' Lars Fredriksen and the Bastards, only just heard it, and at the minute it chimes with me rather well.
Write your favorite lyric here:
"What's the point in always looking back,
When all you see is more and more junk." - No Surface All Feeling
"At 21 you're on top of the scrap heap,
At 16 you were top of the class" - To Have and ....
Tonnes more, again
Edit - just remembered the golden cutting rule. Sorry! Is idiot.
