redfiona99Haven't watched 'Doctor Who' yet, we taped it because it clashed with the Royal Society Christmas Lectures, which cheeses me off more than somewhat, because let's be honest, amongst grown-ups who like Dr. Who there's a more than slight cross-over with the sciences, and I feel that scheduling them at the same time is going to drain the audience for the Christmas Lectures which are so much more important.
Not that I'm saying that just because this year is a biology year. Although it is really good. Presented by someone who gets that he's presenting to children. While I'm no fan of talking down to people I like the way he's doing it. Plus he's reasonably good at the ad-libbing and some of the props have been amazingly good. I especially liked the electron transport model.
I'm also amazed at how well he's getting across things that are first year of degree level stuff.
Also, and I like this possibly because I'm a biologist (motto: If it's squishy, it's ours), there was saliva, a whole pint of it, on stage.
