I am contemplating mpreg. I am researching hermophraditic fish for goodness sake. Because you get these really interesting fish, where, if there are no males around, the largest female switches gender into a male and becomes the harem male, and I'm sorry but you stick that knowledge into a biologists brain and you give me a mostly dead alien species where the only two remaining are male and ... I can't help it. I have the Doctor changing into a woman, well in terms of reproductive parts, and he's still in Gallifrey go boom shock and things happened on the Valiant that I don't want to discuss and still mostly male ... and yes, it will not be a happy fic.
And then I'm also contemplating Ianto/Jack, which, for the uniniciated is a pairing that suffers excessively from weepy uke syndrome and it's always Ianto that gets turned into a weeping mess. Which he really isn't. Except when occasion calls for it. In fact, were it not for Owen the Slappable, and Tosh and Jack, he'd be my favourite Torchwood character, because he is reasonable (and makes good coffee). He is also the prince of the kingdom of characters who bottle everything up. The other problem is that a lot of the fics forget about Lisa, and I don't understand how you can because for goodness sake, he spirited her out of London, which even with the chaos must have taken some doing, and kept her hidden for a year. And he was flirting with Jack even before Lisa died and I'm sorry but if he was in love with both of them, as I think he was, there's a great big well of inky black angst to play with that I can't resist.
Then there's the way his flirting at the end of 'They Keep Killing Suzie' is entirely out of tone with everything else and well, we're back to the inky well of angst.
