Buffy the Musical
Dec. 20th, 2002 08:48 pmOkay I've seen it before, breaking my vow and watching it on Sky, but this time it was on terrestrial TV. And damn, it was still good.
Didn't see the start credits before though and they are so funny.
The first fight/song scene is pretty damn funky as well. The chorus line demons.
And 'I've got a theory' would be great anyhow and then the bunnies bit. OMG That woman needs help.
'They got the mustard out' - I've been singing that ever since I first saw it.
How much was implied in the Willow/Tara song. 'Spread out beneath my willow tree' indeed. Have I mentioned that I think Joss Whedon rocks.
Anya and Xander as Fred and Ginger. Okay Nicholas Brendon may never be the world's greatest singer, but damn that was good.
'I saw the corpse while the police were taking witness arias.' Line of the week.
'Let Me Rest In Pieces', wow, yes and does anyone know how to remove the song from my brain. Continual loop for a day is bad.
BTW does anyone else recognise the guitar bit from that, 'cause it sounded so familiar.
The bad guy rocked.
'Nother wonderful Giles line. 'If we hear any inspirational power chords, we are going to lie down until they go away.'
Poor Giles, poor Tara and poor Buffy. And Willow needs a right talking to. You do not mess with peoples' memories.
'Walk Through the Fire' was good as a big ending number.
Poor conflicted Spike. "I hope she fries, I'm free if that bitch dies. I'd better help her out."
"First he'll kill her, then I'll save her. No, I'll save her, and then I'll kill her."
Dear writers desist with that painful minor. And when I say painful, I mean it, my ears hurt when I heard it.
Big chorus number.
And big end kiss.
Cue much fangirl screaming - from my Mother- who is not only a Buffy fan, but I Buffy/Spike 'shipper. I corrupted my own mother LOL
All in all, a fantastic episode.
Now off to find the libretto any way I can
