Sorry for the excess of Rome-ness only the BBC are showing 2 episodes a week, and I am therefore giddy and excitable

But then so, maybe, if she's got any sense, is Octavia. He's so sweet and sincere. And given to making over-dramatic statements, but we forgive him for that.

Dear Cicero, I love you and all, and worry about your chances of having to drink hemlock, but pick one side and stick to it.

Dear Mark Anthony, never change. I <3 you also.

I am amused to find Ronan Vibert floating about in this, on top of apparently everyone else who's ever held either an Equity card or whatever the Italian equivalent is.

One of the things I really love about the series, that they haven't modernised the Romans much, is the one thing that's throwing my housemate out. Because its beyond my abilities to explain beyond 'it's part of his morality' when I'm trying to explain why Vorenus announced exactly what happened to Vorena and Little Lucius.

Oh Brutus, so brave, so stupid.

And I don't think I even need to explain exactly how thunderstruck I still am at exactly how fantastically odd Octavian is. He's still the little boy we knew but he's got extra problems now. Octavian Mark II is doing a good job of keeping some of his old mannerisms, which is helping deal with the transition. There's also that he's still a pompous little prat. But the stunt in the Senate was so well done. Also much love to the sound crew for actually getting the sound right there.

And the end scene with him and Mark Anthony. Gah! There is no happy ending here.

Bring on Philipi.

Octavian will blow your mind in later episodes with just how odd he can be.

Trust me on this.

Oh dear. Given that I was scarred at an early age by 'I Claudius' I do truly worry what Octavian will do.

Mark Antony as portrayed by James Purefoy is one of the bestest thing EVER EVER EVER on television.

And I totally agree with you on the not modernising Rome thing. I absolutely LOVED it for not softening it up and updating its morals for current times. Romans had a completely different morality system, and they stuck to their guns. I love Vorenus a LOT on a meta level, because they absolutely do not compromise with him. They don't make him palatable for our modern sensibilities.

UNF.

Loves on your icon.

And I finally saw 'King Arthur' yesterday. I didn't even need to see his face and I squealed. "OMG PULLO!"
