Just been to see Spiderman 3
May. 31st, 2007 12:30 amWah! They killed Harry. Noooo!
I personally choose to believe there is another, parallel, but infinitely kinder universe where Peter, Harry and MJ go off into the sunset together. Because they're so very cute.
Wah! Really, even having been forewarned, I don't think I shall be over that for a long time. Because Harry, when not being unfortunately determined to bring Peter much misery, is so sweet and nice. And adorable. Just keep your lips away from MJ, please.
Kirsten Dunst is still not my Mary Jane so we shall skip over her, shall we.
I also totally see where the friend of mine who said they ruined Eddie Brock. I remember him being hopeless and occasionally cruel rather than an out and out arse-licker with a mean streak. Also Topher Grace is lousy at dramatic.
Thomas Hayden-Church on the other hand was damn good. Well done that man.
Jonah Jameson once again stole the film though.
Other than that, Gwen Stacey was also nothing like our Gwen, and I really didn't like a lot of the crowd actors in this.
Also, while I feel bad about saying this, as an actor playing a superhero, maybe Tobey Maguire might have considered getting his personal trainer to work on his stomach, just a little bit. Further, dear directors and all involved, an emo haircut and eyeliner do not convey evil. Referring to Harry as Goblin Junior and the trick on Mary Jane, those, they convey evil.
I love the fact that when Harry actually had the choice and had a clear head and wasn't being messed up by his father (personal belief is still that there's raging insanity in that family) he did the right thing.
And how bloody heartbreaking was it that Harry and Peter made such a good team, laughing and joking and oh, damn it, I am going to my happy place where he doesn't die, damn it, and the three of the ride off into the sunset.
And in other, shallower, news - James Franco is still unspeakably hot.
