Football and randomness

Which contains the Ukraine, Spain, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. This means it could be an interesting group, with very boring matches. Because, lets be honest about this, the Ukrainian manager did once pick a team based on who had the fastest 100 metre splits. I dislike Spanish football and am therefore hoping they once again screw up, but given that they've been given quite an easy group I can see them progressing.

Tunisia could be good, indeed I hope they will be, not just because I know some Tunisians. Saudi Arabia always have the potential to do something but never seem to do it, and I can't see that changing now, so I think Spain and the Ukraine will go through, though I'd prefer it to be the Ukraine and Tunisia.



Ended up watching the second half of France v Switzerland and all of Brazil v Croatia with James and some of the rest of the French and English Law students. It was fun because we were all neutral, half pulling for Brazil to do something amazing, half cheering for Croatia because they were mostly stopping Brazil.

Does anyone know who the ref for the France v Switzerland game was because he was more than a little card happy.

My personal man of the match for that one was Niko Kovac for trying to keep playing with what looked like a rib injury. Sir, you're an idiot, but I love you for it.
