Now on to more fannish persuits

I missed how they resolved the cliffhanger due to housemate's boy related problems but thankfully they did resolve it.
I didn't help the way I spent the next hour and a half expecting Harper to die. And when the mine fell in on him, well I thought he'd met his maker. So happy he didn't die.
I should have guessed that Mohan Singh was far too brave to survive the damn thing. For those keeping count, I was a good girl, no mad tear-bursts but a couple of sniffles. At that bit and the Forlorn Hope previously. Mostly at General McRae who knew the lad wouldn't be coming back.
I presume there was supposed to be the two sides of the same coin thing with Dodd and Sharpe, although I did find it amusing that Dodd thought Sharpe must have bought his commision, despite his accent (and yes, I know that by this stage you had the Northern nouveau gentry but come on). And dudes, Toby Stephens was bareable in this one. I know he's not as bad as I sometimes claim but he was definitely better than usual in this.
And we got brave Frenchies. Sorry, but I liked them. A lot. I loved Bonnet in particular, especially the bit where he, Sharpe and Harper were talking about Waterloo. Anyone notice if he made it out alive?
And thankfully, there was a minimum of mushy romance, even with Sharpe being in mourning.
I had fun.
Less fun was opening up Eurosport and hearing rumours of Zidane's retirement. That would mean him, Bergkamp and Maldini, all gone at the end of the year. I don't think I want to be part of this brave new world.
