Blasted enzyme
Jul. 27th, 2005 06:21 pmIn other words, today's digest did not work. However there is light at the end of the tunnel, someone else happened to have some of the awkward enzyme's favoured buffer (which the stupid bloody company didn't send us with this batch of enzyme) so I'm running that tomorrow.
On to other matters:
I want to marry this chapter. I want to have it's silly and faintly satirical babies. It was just right, because really, that's how it would work.
Plus some how she made me feel sorry for Fudge and that takes some doing after the end of GOF and all of OOTP.
However, dear Ms. Rowling, please not to be killing off secondary female characters who I am kind of fond of, what with their age and kick-assed-ness. Is suddenly very worried for McGonagall who is also in this age category.
But yes I got the bad shivers when I read 'the Bones and Vance murders' that got even worse when it was confirmed that yes, it was that Bones and that Vance.
But yes, good opening.
The other really good thing was how the Prime Minister could be read as being Blair, but at the same time could as be read as pretty much any Prime Minister ever with the exception of Churchill, Atlee and Thatcher. Loved the bit about the Chancellor trying to get the painting off the wall.
Also, yay, Kingsley as security and secretary :) Not sure if I like the new Minister of Magic, I think it's because he's got a decidedly evil sounding name.
And yes, I realise that at this rate, she'll have finished writing book 7 before I've finished reading book 6.
On a fic front, the police AU du jour is past the sex bit. But now I have to write the explanation. Said fic is already 34 kb in Wordpad and I've only just started part 4. Now admittedly, people who write in other fandoms will be all 'pah! nothing' but it's wrestle-fic, home of the one-shot.

LMAO @ home of the one-shot. Very, very true. It seems to be only other fandoms that inspire crazy epics.
