Fencers! and Moto GP

Please assume I am throwing my hands up in the most stereotypical manner.

So N who has not previously been mentioned tapped me up to be on the NW team for the Winton. Not a problem. I am first reserve for a comp. in two weeks time. He hasn't told me if I'm on the team, despite knowing I have to organise transport and somewhere to kip. All of that set aside, D, of whom much has been said, loped up to me and asked if I could be on his team for the Winton. So I explained the situation, and basically I need to know for sure if N needs me so D can sort his team out. Of course, as I said, this is now at T - 14 to the competition.

Moto GP is back. And my beloved Espargaro boys and Dovi are all doing well. Unfortunately, Lorenzo has gone back to being #99. Damn it, Jorge, keep your mucky paws off my number (I am numbered for a Moto racer, Jeremy McWilliams represent). [Also, sorry I'm a Dani Pedrosa girl in that argument.]

The Di Canio Incident

Dear British Press, you are driving me to defend the fascists. Please consider how this makes me feel. I do not want to do this. But if you're going to say no one of political persuasion X can ever be in charge of something, it sounds a little well ... fascistic. If I'm allowed to call myself a socialist without having to defend myself from the various crimes that Stalin, Mao et al committed while wearing the name of that ideology, I'm willing to extend that to other people.

While I am aware of the historical association between fascism and racism, there's no evidence that Di Canio himself is a racist or has ever been accused of a racially aggravated offence, which puts him in a better position than 2 of the last 3 England captains.

All of this is even worse if you consider that Di Canio has been managing Swindon Town for more than a year, so there's a really confused message. Either lower league football isn't important enough to count, or, and this is my preferred option, people are just throwing a wildly hypocritical fit because they can.
