May. 16th, 2003 12:23 pmI have decided that I have bruised ribs.
Buggering Sheffield United beat Forest in the play-offs. This is doubly bad. One, I'm a Forest fan so I am sad (but at least they finally got their act together). Secondly, I'm a Sheffield Wednesday fan and it makes me sick to my stomach to see United go up to the Premiership while they sink to division two. What is the world coming to.
Sport's related news, the Giro is on, which means the Tour can't be far away. Stupidly huge Tour de France fan. It's probably the purest extreme sports festival going. 170 guys, 17 teams, 21 days, and all the way round France, involving stupidly long stages, and stupidly difficult climbs.
When they first went over the Ventoux (I think it was the Ventoux) the climb was that evil that one of the bike riders shouted "Murderer" at the race director.
And that's polite compared to some of the things they call that official today. But it's the 100th anniversary, so will it be on terrestrial where everyone can see it. Is it budgerigar! No, apparently its too long and drawn out for terrestrial TV.
(Hugs Eurosport for showing it)
I really love Eurosport because it's an absolute shambles. What other network would have just one guy commentating for 6 hours a day for 21 days. Eurosport is the cute little street urchin of the Sport channel world.
