Some things which bear repeating now
Mar. 6th, 2003 09:26 pmDune is one of the best books ever written. I was reading it on the train and the world in there seems more real than the world out here.
Leicester have decided not to appeal against the semi-final decision. Which is good. Because it means there is a team I can support wholeheartedly in the Powergen final. Go Gloucester.
Schumacher M. is bound to win the championship again this year which means that he'll have more World Championships than Fangio. And as a mark of the man, Schumacher said that no matter how much he won, he would never be in Fangio's league.
This is why I love him. Yes, he's arrogant at times, but that'll happen when he can wipe the floor with the challengers. But have you noticed that when the challenger is worthy (Hakkinen, Raikkonen, Ralf) he treats them with respect unlike certain other drivers I can mention.
Of course you can tell that the F1 season is about to begin because Coulthard has made his yearly, 'this will be my year' speech. It never is, but I enjoy his defeat. Not because I dislike him, but because there's something so bitter and vituperative about his character that he makes me dislike him.
And Williams have their usual infighting, not to mention that Jacques Villeneuve has once again pissed off his teammate (Jenson Button this year so good on you Jacques)
It's the same old same old even with the changes which will hardly change anything.
Just general note, if I'm gabbing about F1 Schumacher will always be Michael, and Ralf Schumacher is always just plain old Ralf. Because he's the younger one. Fisicella is Fisi, Raikonnen is Kimi Kimi and everyone else gets called by their actual names. If I mention Marvin, I mean Martin Brundel, not to be confused with Mark Blundell (They raced on the same team one year and the commentators were not pleased. Now they're both commentators themselves)
High pitch squeaking will be due to one of the following 1) Marvin interviewing Bernie Eccleston and getting one over him in the insults department, 2) Any appearance by Alex Wurz, Johnny Herbert, Jean Alesi or Gerhard Berger.
Alex Wurz somehow getting Coulthard's drive for the Austrian GP and somehow winning would results in ear piercing screams so be glad that that won't happen in a million years.
