Hee so happy about the men's time trial result. Well done Tyler.

Less happy about the gymnastics
Kim Dun Eun was robbed. Really. I mean how the hell did Hamm get a 9.137 for a vault he didn't even land. Really, if he'd been from an non-traditionally gymnastic nation there would have been no way for him to get that.

That being said I really think Hamm is great and wonderful, and probably the better gymnast all round, but still.

Or possibly that was just my paranoia talking.

It was fun and hi-jinks in the three day eventing too.

And then I caught TNA and marked out completely, to the point where not even doing the 'these storylines aren't real' jig didn't stop me. In between swearing at Russo, thinking that he's up to something and can no way be for real and flipping the bird at Jarrett I had a fun time.

Someone really needs to take that channel away from me before I do serious damage to the TV.



Russo has once again been giving Harris hell in an attempt to toughen him up. He had also banned James Storm from ringside. And of course Storm completely ignored him.

So eventually, after Harris beats Shane Douglas with help from Storm, Russo comes down to the ring. Now I'm already thinking that maybe he's secretly in league with Jarrett because with this schedule there's no way Harris is going to be 100% for the title match.

Then he does the whole you're not ready spiel and says that if Storm really thought Harris was ready he'd stop helping him out. And I'm all like what do you expect him to do.

And Russo's washing his hands of Harris and I know something bad is going to happen at the title match and wah!

(Those who are wondering what I sound like in real life, I talk like that, run on sentances that make no sense with no pauses for breath)


I also think I really need to calm down.

I accidentally spoiled myself, so I thought, what the hey, I'll read your spoilers, too. I haven't seen Hamm's fall yet, so I really shouldn't talk before I've seen it, but ehhhhh. If Chinese girl gets 8.5 for screwing up the landing despite a really good bar routine, I don't see how Hamm should've gotten anything higher than 9.0 for screwing up his landing.

But I'm very YAYAYAYAYAYAY that you're marking out for TNA!!!

I am very happy that Paul Hamm won, for he is great, and he was very cute when he was all "no way omg I won????" but I agree with you. I still don't think he deserved that 9.137 for a vault on which he LANDED ON HIS ASS. I just don't think you get to fall on your ass and break 9.0, or at least, I don't think it's consistent with the other scoring that I've seen so far on people who've fallen off their apparatus.

My miff is with the scoring, of course, not on Paul Hamm's abilities.

Exactly, I mean I love him lots and think he's great (his floor work is excellent) but he got the vault totally wrong. I've seen them give lower marks for way less. The only thing I can think of is that it had such a high start value that that was all they could deduct but given that the judge have given 9.1s for vaults that have only been stepped outside the corridor.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. It WAS a difficult vault, so I'm sure it had a start value of 10.0 and that's what saved Hamm. But at the same time... he fucked up BIG on the landing. He stumbled badly, fell on his ass, and one of the judges actually had to reach out and stop him. That's really not a 9.1, but oh well. It's over, and he's won the gold, and I'll just be happy for him. Though I still feel very badly for Korean guy. He looked so crushed.
