But first I must say that Jarrett does the most incredible OMGWTFBBQandanyotherletters look. Especially when confronted with Russo.
I didn't think it was possible to use 'New Yorker' as an insult, but then again, I forget that this is the redneck wrestling alliance. Actually it was kind of cool for someone like me who isn't too good with accents to hear the contrast.
The main bits I missed was Diamond v Swinger which makes me :( and Petey Williams (of the evil Canadians) v Juvi v Jerry Lynn. Good use of what I hope is not a real injury.
And Chris Harris v the Naturals seperately. I came in at the end of his match v Andy Douglas. And joined the crowd in booing and hissing at Russo for making poor old Wildcat fight both of the Naturals.
And wondering exactly what he could have said to stop Storm interfering too much.
And the aftermath when Russo was giving it 'I don't need to explain myself to anybody' and Harris storms up having to cope with a rather manic James Storm. And then comes the punchline.
I love how Harris checks with Storm before shaking Russo's hand.
Luger looked a little rough, didn't he.
Sabu's good. I know this isn't news to most people but that was the first match I've seen him in.
And Raven is good at the scarily intense promo.
One thing about Sabu, his entrance says he's from Bombay, right? So what's with the Arabian thing? Or am I misunderstanding something?
To fill in the timeslot the Wrestling Channel shows random bits of other shows and the one on this week was old ROH. The only important thing I wish to say is that Chris Daniels has a beautiful moonsault.
Watched the Olympics. The whole household is very happy about Steven Parry getting a medal. And he's so nice.
For all those who want to know GB commentators are twits too.
What went wrong with the Chinese team in the team gymnastics? I was out so I didn't get to see it.

*sigh* One of the girls screwed up on the uneven bars. She had a really good routine, then she dismounted too close to the bar and pretty much fell on her face. The 8.5-ish score completely threw them out of the running.

Date: 2004-08-18 04:07 pm (UTC)The commentators over here were saying that they much prefered the old system where you could drop a score because it allowed everyone to relax a little more and you got better results from that.
Is she okay? The Brit coverage really doesn't mention much outside British interests.

Date: 2004-08-18 04:15 pm (UTC)I was thinking the exact same thing. The amount of pressure they're already under is incredible, now the system heaps YET more pressure on them? It's completely brutal and borderline cruel, I think. People wound so tight are bound to snap. Yeah, we all want excellence, but I really do not see the need to go that far.
Oh yeah, the girl's okay. It looked bad, but she got right up and walked off without a problem. I don't think she suffered any injury other than maybe some bruises later on, but it was definitely a hard knock psychologically.

Date: 2004-08-18 05:16 pm (UTC)And the pressure tells more on some people than others, like the blond Russian who I think is Bondarenko, he's good but the minute there's pressure on he has a tendancy to fall to pieces.

Date: 2004-08-18 06:17 pm (UTC)Ooooh yeah. I think I know who you're talking about. Like, he can be good, you know it's in him, but the moment he HAS to deliver, he just crumbles. *sigh* Oh well, I watch the Russians purely for Aleksei.
