redfiona99Tyler Hamilton is the man. He is completely and totally great.
In other words, the man with the broken collarbone has just won a stage in the Tour de France. And he did it in a lone breakaway over the steepest mountain on this year's route.
And do you know what he did. He thanked his team. Because at the start of the stage he wasn't feeling too good so they sent half the team back to look after him.
That what's so wonderful about the Tour. Each individual works for a team, each team works for their riders. If someone's been sent back for water, and someone from another team asks for some it's given. There's a camaraderie between them all.
It's romantic, and I mean that in the 'it's poetic, fantastical, unpractical and infinitely old-fashioned' way.
But that's the sort of thing I like.
