(TW: calorie counting) (TW: weight)
Somehow I have lost centimetres around my waist despite the complete lack of exercise. I can fit into size 14s (US 12, Australian 14, European 42, standardise please some day) again. I got bored and got myself one of those fitness tracker thingies (mostly because I managed to get a 8% discount on something that was already on sale). Not sure how accurate it is, but it mostly keeps me on the straight and narrow, and strongly makes me suspect the reason I previously skipped gym sessions due to feeling terrible was because I had under-recovered.
I think I'm lucky in that I don't eat my feelings (only my rage when fencing), but lockdown is making it quite clear how much of my time I spend in coffee shops. I think it's part of why I will never understand people going "coffee shops - terrible". I come from a culture with a word for spending time in coffee shops with friends, and I love doing it. Or spending time in coffee shops on my own. In short, coffee shops, yay!
I can resist most temptations, but not coffee and cake. And it is the combo. I can drink coffee on its own no problem, and I can resist cake on it's own, but coffee and cake is irresistible.
