For a regular link, you should be able to use <a href="inserturlhere.htm">title of link</a> and the only part that'll show up is the 'title of link'.
There's a site called Lissa Explains It All that's basically a HTML question-and-answer tutorial type thing... it's aimed at kids so the colour scheme is godawful, but it's what I used for random questions here and there when I was learning. Quite useful if you can stand the yellow. =)
