Why are they making Chris Hemsworth do Blue Steel in the adverts?

In more than the general sense of "why make anyone do Blue Steel now it's a mocked thing?", why in particular make Chris Hemsworth do it.

I really don't get it. I mean, you've got a guy who when he smiles makes the unsusceptible happy and the susceptible throw underwear. Why are you making him do bland male model pose number 1?!

Chris Hemsworth looks like a bog-standard boofhead pothead surfer that you could find on any beach around Australia, unless he's smiling. Make him smile more, not less!
