This would be a problem as my bed only holds two people.
I feel I should explain.
Mum was coming to mine for Christmas. So I made a plan:
Plan 1:
Mum gets the train, admittedly has to spend 2 1/2 hours on a train both ways, but it means she arrives on the 23rd and leaves on the 27th and C can do what he wants with the car.
Time spent with Mum: 5 days
Time spent sleeping on the floor: 0 days
But C didn't like this plan, because *he* doesn't like trains. So he comes up with a plan:
Plan 2
where he drives Mum down, then drives up to Bradford, and then does the reverse on the way back. Is it a stupid plan, yes, but you know, I am trying to be easy-going.
Time spent with Mum: 4 1/2 days
Time spent sleeping on the floor: 0 days
Unfortunately, he has now come up with another plan.
Plan 3
He drives Mum down on the 23rd, stays till the 24th, drives up to Bradford, drives back here on the 26th, stays the night and drives Mum up on the 27th.
Time spent with Mum: 2 days
Time spent sleeping on the floor: 2 days
Time spent with C bitching about my flat: 2 half days
Annoyingly, he is also bringing food, so I can't treat Mum to the "foreign muck" which since he doesn't like it, she doesn't get to eat. There's a Thai restaurant I was planning on taking her to but I know he won't go.
Unfortunately, I am now stuck with trying to come up with a way of getting out of this, the obvious way being to say, "okay, I'll come up to yours instead." The only thing stopping me is that I want to know whether that is in fact C's masterplan. Because if it is, it will be worth the sore back and the ulcer of having to put up with his bitching just to put his nose out of joint. And yes, I am that petty.
