Do they ever nest in walls? I saw several landing and going through the same gap in a wall, almost like they were wiping feet on a doormat before going home.

Yes, they do. However, the most common kind to see in a wall is a masonry bee and they are only in small numbers.

Yes! And so do wasps.

We have a local bee man to call when we see a possible nest - you might have something similar? Maybe the local council will know?

It's on uni property so I'm not sure who to speak to (although that reminds me I need to speak to estates about one of the fire doors at work).

They're such cute small furry bees.
