While German Duolingo is not obsessed by death and sugar the way Italian Duolingo is, it has its own quirks.

( Some of them are silly )

But it seems to have a thing for ( ducks, pigs and horses. )

( Some of them, on the other hand, are just plain odd or creepy )

Particularly sinister is "when I regained consciousness I was in a big room."

I know it's not Duolingo's fault, but "Vienna needs a little tourism" is a sentence wrong on many levels.

There were a few unnervingly accurate phrases though, such as "the textbooks are too expensive."

Worryingly I know that the Duolingo German for "warning, radiation" is accurate from experience.
