While Tosh turning up in 'World War 3' (or possibly 'Aliens of London') now makes me teary round the edges, my absolute favourite moment is Yvonne Hartman's glorious last stand in 'Doomsday'.

Because she is everything that is wrong with Torchwood, and everything that Jack has been fighting a rear-guard action against, and yet, like all the other Torchwood agents we meet, when she needs to do something to stop an alien invasion, she does it. Even though she's been cyberified. It's programming we'd been shown was unbreakable even through a mother's love and Yvonne's sense of duty broke it and it's just everything that is admirable about Torchwood.
