More random fics that I've been meaning to recommend for some time.
Historical RPF Except not quite.
The Not Remotely Secret Memoirs of Alexander the Great, Aged 13¾ I may have recced this before. Because it is wonderful and funny, and historically precise despite the (deliberate) anachronisms. And amazing.
Rome:
The Aeneid Believable Pullo/Vorenus, with pitch perfect characterisation of all the Vorenii (and if you don't fall in love with little Lucius and Vorena the Younger, there's no help for you), and excellent Vorenus interior dialogue, and Pullo external dialogue, which I would quote but instead, I encourage you all to go and read it.
Sherlock:
5 Times Moriarty's Tentacles Were Naughty, and One Time They Were Nice, (But Not In Any Chronological Order.) You know the fics you're not sure why you like, and you're not even sure they're technically sound, but you keep coming back to. This is one of those.
Star Trek:
If I Die in a Combat Zone (Give My Vibrator a Good Home) Canonical character death warning. Which could be morbid and is adorable and not-quite bittersweet instead. And yes, Uhura is the best best friend a girl could hope for in that galaxy.
Watchmen:
Smoke and Mirrors My favourite piece of Watchmen fanfic. It's just so very right. And catches the Comedian and Ozymandias brilliantly.
