Fool For Love
First, it is a most excellent example of villain as the hero of his own story. Because yes, Spike is self-aggrandizing and giving it some flash in the fight scenes. Also, of course someone who wanted to be a Romantic poet would turn into someone like Spike and it explains *so* much about him.
Then there's the fight scene vs Nikki Wood, which is probably the best fight choreography in the whole series. And I love Spike's narration of the fight.
And then the way that fight scene segues into the Buffy versus Spike scene where she just destroys him, not just in the fight but verbally and that part of the scene is filmed and blocked exactly like a fight and it is just wonderful.
Then Spike shows why he's killed two Slayers before, by skipping the tradition thing and reaching for the shotgun. And of course failing miserably because, as the Judge said, he stinks of love.
The whole episode makes me make all flaily hands.
